I searched for "postrgre" and the top part is all that came up.
For anti-virus I am running Vipre, but have tried adding exceptions to the firewall etc. Some sweeping and generic, some very specific - still no joy.
I don't know what else to do. I have a spare hard drive and I guess a fresh OS install and slow, gradual install of DAZ and the crazy huge library I have is likely to be the final key. I appreciate everyone's efforts on my (our) behalf!
That's not the helper log - that's the regular log. You need to ctrl-click on show log to get the helper log. Or - you can go to C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\InstallManager and open Hlog.txt.
I've noticed that when I start Daz Studio, under the splash screen where it says stuff like "building interface", etc., there's always a message that shows up there which says "Updating CMS..." Is that normal, or do I have the wrong version of something installed?
Hmm... I did ctrl-click it and that's what I got. I'm familiar with using Ctrl and Alt keys and the like so thought I'd do a search - Nada from the entire user directory down. Maybe THAT'S part of the problem! I'm thiiiiiis close to going through the hassle of installing a spare drive, fresh OS, fresh DAZ and fresh download of content just to actually see it work, and to see when/where it fails. Seems like it worked for a very short time, then in a single session went from working to acting like it never worked. Weird.
Ah - this is a stumper, but it does explain why the CMS is not working. After DIM installs the Postgres code it turns control over to a background process that does the final config, starts the database, and loads the DAZ table structure into the database.
Looks like it might be time to open a ticket with DAZ and indicate the background helper process isn't running after the Poastgres install.
Thank you for all your efforts on my behalf - it is appreciated!
The DAZ Studio is taking really, REALLY long to load. It has been "Upgrading CMS" for more than an hour. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!
There's a standalone version you can download, but this appears in the Download manager.
Old thread, but I'm currently having pretty much exactly the same problem as Grogger had back in 2016, following a routine DIM install of the latest 64bit Studio. I've played around with all the hints / actions I saw in this thread. Where I'm up to is that the Hlog entry in DIM is
2021-01-04 23:24:21.566 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\dzpostgresqlobjectdatabase.cpp(37): freeResources error: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061)

could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061)
Is the server running on host "localhost" (127.0.0.1) and accepting
TCP/IP connections on port 17237?
I have checked an earlier Richard Hasletine tip to check the ports etc. in the CMS config file and it looks like it is the expected 17237.
It does appear from this message that DIM is not connecting, and Studio is not connecting.
Any thoughts?
BTW ... to clear the DIM logs I deleted both log.txt and Hlog.txt, and then found I had no Hlog after running DIM and somewhere I found some error pertaining to Hlog. So I manually created an empty Hlog.txt file and that seemed to set things a-right, giving me Hlog entries again.
UPDATE. FIXED.
Not exactly sure what the problem was, nor how I fixed it. But what I did discover was that the CMS/ContentCluster library had a sub-library that was a duplicate of the main library (with more recent file date stamps) so I moved that duplicate file elsewhere, merged it back into CMS/ContentCluster choosing the more recent of the duplicates and re-started Studio.
And to close all this out ...
1.Note, the re-import chuggs alon along all silent and non-reporting even though the slider bar says 100%. With enough patience the non-reporting process finishes (mine took circa 5 mins after "100%") and all the imported content appears. BTW, I had myself tested for "Patience" the other day. But it's okay - I'm negative.
2. Somewhere along the line, my preferences for the CMS settings morphed into .../Roaming/DAZ3D/cms/ClusterContent. And so cms created a series of directories in his headed by .../Roaming/DAZ3D/cms/ContentCluster/ContentCluster ie re-built the duplication. Can't imaging why I'd have changed that setting and the dates suggest it was maybe 4 years ago, but the answer to the duplication is to set this preference to ../Roaming/DAZ3D/cms. As the HAL 9000 might have intoned "It must be human error, Alex".
Bottom line is CMS working again, all content there, ClusterContent no longer duplicated and no real idea what the problem was in the first place. Hopefully that "voyage of discovery" might be useful to someone somewhere.
Hi,
I had exactly same problem as described in this thread -> Postgre SQL CMS not started/not working. I resolved problem after few hours by following procedure which is quite simple at the end:
Hopefully this will help somebody.
After trying many different solutions yours the only one that worked for me, so thank you very much!
几种情况:
1右键添加智能内容标签
2查看PostgreSQL CMS是否卸载未安装
3查看cms目录是否正确 例如我的是 DatabaseClusterPath" : "C:/Users/Administrator/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms
