Can anyone get this Chun Li outfit to work?

So I was trying to get a hold of a Chun Li outfit for V4 which I found from another post on this site. Anyway the link was this: http://www.3digitalcrafts.net/studiomaya/crbst_30.html (if it does not show Chun Li in the list of freebies please type Chun Li in the search bar)

So I downloaded it fine and it showed up in the appropriate box on my Daz 3.1 but I tried loading it and I get this (in pic) what does it mean? has anyone else tried to use this? has it worked for them? this is a shame because its hard to come across anything Chun Li related for Daz and I found this which is perfect but it does not work when it should.

Help would be appreciated here please is there a way of getting it to work somehow or do you even know why that message pops up? ty.

First things first is to go to where that box says ("Runtime/Geometries/StudioMaya/V4/...") and check to see if there actually is an obj there. It's possible that it's in the wrong location, the filename is wrong, or StudioMaya forgot to include it in the download.

It means the path for the geometries is wrong.

According to your message, it is looking for the geometry in .../studiomaya/v4/...

The .obj's are actually in .../studiomaya/...

You can either go to the geometries folder and add the v4 to the path and move the .obj's there or you can open the cr2 files and edit them to point to the correct path.

While your message is for the dress, it may also happen fr the other obj's as well. There may also be similar issues with the texture files - I haven't loaded it so I can't say for sure. Hopefully, this is the only path error.

    Good luck.

I take it you don't do too much downloading from other sites.

The Poser file is looking for the mesh (.OBJ) at the location shown in your picture, the problem is that isn't where the mesh is located, so DS gives you that "I can't find it" popup and wants you to find it instead.

It's pretty common amongst Poser content, so get used to finding the files when asked or learn how to edit everything so they point to the right places.

PS click "locate" and in the search window head to Runtime > Geometries > StudioMaya, you'll find the files in there instead where the Poser script says.

You don't move it, instead create a V4 folder inside it and move the 4 OBJ files into it.

You might want to rethink using this, it uses Poser procedural shaders and a low res normal map, so it's going to be jet black in any render you do as DS can't use those surface settings.

    EDIT

The attached image shows what your going to get in DS, you will have to make your own surface settings as this doesn't come with any textures for the outfit.
Notice the skirt, it's a prop built into the dress CR2, it's meant to be draped in Poser's cloth room, which is something we DS users can't do as we don't have a usable dynamics system.

yeh your right :( man someone needs to just get a proper Chun Li outfit for Daz already I know many who would purchase it even but then I guess the issue may lie in copyright use. Thx anyway.

For someone like me it's still usable, it just requires a bit more work than most users would do.

The attached pic is an hours worth of farting around in the shader mixer, the only texture in the dress is the normal map Maya included, haven't touched the boots or the spikes on the wrists yet, and the hair has highlights burned into it that I'd like to get rid of.

Doesn't seem like texturing would be the real problem, as it doesn't 'fall' with gravity. If one wanted it to fall, would seem without dynamics one would have to have leg bones for the 'skirt' portion that wasn't set to follow the legs but could be adjusted manually so that the lower portion could both be adjusted to appear to fall and the bottom could be adjusted to collapse together.

The skirt is an embedded geometry prop that's wedged into the CR2, so assuming Toobis has the FST for DS3.1 he would have to import the original CR2 into an empty scene, then have to export the skirt as an OBJ, delete it from the scene, then select the top in the scene and export that as a CR2 either overwriting the original or making a new one, then he would have to use the Skeleton setup from the FST to rig the skirt, joint editor to make sure the bones work right, and then export the skirt as it's own CR2.

Then after all that find out that the top and skirt don't meet in the middle, you can see the gap in my first image, the white belt in the second image over powers it so it's much harder to see, the outfit really need reworked in a modeling program to join the top & the skirt, but that will destroy all of the morphs.

Slap a couple of DForms onto it and use them to get it to "hang right".

Is this outfit still available anywhere? The above link appears to be dead.
