RareStone's Face Morphs Collection for Genesis 8 Female

Anyone tried that ? Is it really useful when you have the base G8F morph set, or a bit redundant ?

Yeah I suppose the originals were too redundant with F8 morphs. Still not a big incentive to buy them. If anyone who owns the base Morphs tries them out I'd like to know how useful this really is.
  • They're great. There are a lot of morphs targeted to specific areas that create different shapes than the G3F morphs can. Lips corner shapes, undereye morphs, real world ear morphs, stuff that nobody bothers with.

I think they're pretty good, this one is made exclusively with this set.

I love them! Teamed with DO Face Morphs, this is the most control EVER over facial characteristics on a Daz figure!

Care to elaborate as to why? Are they not what you expected? Are they defective in some way?

  • The set is excellent. Good variety, dials with actual helpful descriptions in general.

However, from a non-artistic standpoint, there were issues with the set when it was released (file naming convention issues), such that now a bunch of my work might be trash bin material. All the morphs had to be renamed, which led to error files and missing morphs after the Daz store "updated" this package with the approved naming conventions.

When I have days invested in something and it's trash bin material now because of a store problem, it's all rather vexing.

So, whatever. I don't really care if this is not valid criticism because it's not my forum. I may also end up returning this... not because I don't like  these dials, but it's painful to use them right now after losing days of work.

The filenames appear to be "correct" now, so it shouldn't affect subsequent purchasers.

I'm bummed. It was in my cart when it was on sale, then, poof, it disappeared from my cart and now it's full price. Didn't take a screenshot because I had no idea it would disappear from my cart or temporarily from the store.

  • That explains. Think I had the same thing. Discounted in my cart. Somehow gone. Then there again but at full price. Might get them someday from the back catalog as Rare Stone is releasing stuff quite regularly.

From G8F or Vic8 ? And with additional textures I suppose...

Might be possible to fix by renaming file names in whatever files involved.

Those are G8F's textures (or Karen 7 as the skin was previously known).

Renaming the morph dials didn't work. I get no errors, but no renamed morphs show up in the list (i.e. I can't extract the percentages) & no morphs appear on the character.

So, a few days worth of work in the toilet over a naming problem. Makes me feel great. :-\

the only issue i've found so far is with irises, and a grey smooth-group or shader glitch if i scale them up too far. otherwise, i was completely blown away when i bought what i thought was 'just another morph kit' - this one gives me a lot finer control than any of my other kits, and i just want to say thanks to Rarestone. good job.

@clivewil2, If I may, I suggest you also purchase/investigate EJ Face Morphs and Details (there's also a male version), which provides HD level morphing covering many areas that are inaccessible by the Daz Originals, 200 Head Morphs, and Rarestone packs.

  • Thank you for bringing these up  EJ Face Morphs and Details, xyer0, I don't know how I missed those! They really have some great morphs!

My pleasure, @Summerhorse! You won't be sorry you got them. Some of my go-tos: Nasolabial Crease Smooth (to mitigate Genesis 8's near-ubiquitous nasolabial folds on non-fae females), Lip Upper Definition / Lip Lower Definition (to add more edge than just RareStone's Creased or Thorne's Define), Glabella (to fix the crease/lump between the eyes), Orbital Outer Depression (to remove the Neanderthal eye/cheekbone ridge that Millawa 8 and Mousso's Albany/Kiona have), Lip Lower/Upper Not Occluded 1/2 (to add a narrow/wide gap to either lip), Philtrum Sides Definition (sublime to hyperbolic), Septum morphs (so many options that you'll be able to copy any septum you crave), etc.

i definitely will grab that, thanks!  i have a whole bunch of E+J's stuff, i didn't realise they did morph packs too (but it's obvious in hindsight)

i've been doing a lot of figures with Face Transfer and Facegen lately, and they always need a huge amount of corrections

    thanks again.
