line art renders

hi i'm new to daz and wanted to know if there is any way to render or export an image as a lineart eg like a render in sketchup where it just shows the outer line of a building etc without the textures,

    You could have a look at this : http://www.daz3d.com/pwtoon

    It should be close to what you are looking for. I don't know of a way to do it in DS without a shader.

    There isn't any built-in way to do that, although you might be able to tweak something out of the toon renders. You could have a look at some add-on shaders - you might, for example, be able to use this free shader http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/21273/ to outline flat-coloured objects, though I haven't tried it. pwToon (in the store) might be another option, though line thickness is variable rather than constant with that.

    thats excellent thanks so much for the quick reply:) are shaders easy to use in DS?

    Yes, you just need to make sure that you select the Surface that you want the shader applied to AND the object itself in the Scene pane too. There are some shaders supplied with DAZ Studio, and there are many others available on ShareCG for free, and other paid for sources too.
