Good. That is great to hear!
In the fine DAZ tradition of waiting 24 hours before correcting a glitch that has the customers unhappy.
Those of us who ought it anyway are grumphed, with only ourselves to thank for it.
An Advanced Ambient Light update was just posted. It adds a few features to the light including AO Color and a setting to allow more control over what settings in surfaces are flagged.
The DIM version appears to be installing fine at first glance but the download EXE version isn't. I'm still working with QA to track down the cause and get it fixed.
I have just tested installing via DIM and it also does not install any new files to the Roaming folder.
Luckily I have unpacked .zip file from DIM myself and copied files, where they should be and now I can finally enjoy the lights.
I think the simple solutions are the best. Wish there will be a way to download such zip from user Product Library.
Not as far as I know.
PM with the lights preset on its way
...got it and worked for me.
Thanks for the more than generous coupon!
It is appreciated.
Yeah, only thing i don't have is Skullduggery (currently priced under $8, so voucher won't be used here either - but even so, light was still good value at ten bucks so I'm not exactly going to lose any sleep over it).
Anyways, here's a quick render - and when I say quick, the render took just 32 seconds (hitmode set to Primitive)...
I'm using a single AAL for the entire scene (positioned by the tables), but instead of using the fall-off to black, I'm using a bright gold for the light colour and set the falloff to dark blue instead of its default black - this lets me have a highlighted area (size depends on the light radius setting) while still having infinite ambient on the rest of the scene (AAL setting shown below with the render).
Thank you for the coupon! That goes a long way to soothe the bad feelings caused by the DAZ method of handling the sale. There is no doubt that your products are worth the full price, but we all like to feel happy about getting a super bargain, and now we can. Even more valuable is your presence in this forum. Your tips and advice triple the value we get from the products.
But just to spice it up a little, this is the exact same scene, but with the lamp bulbs and windows of buildings having a bright yellow applied to their surface ambient settings and their ambient levels turned up - so still one light and still rendered in 32 seconds (obviously, I could then use this as a base and add to it.)
Ok, this is totally off topic but can I ask what set that is Jabba?
Oh, and I got my coupon and used it to get Section 18 which I'd been debating buying for a long time!
I used the various buildings in the "Curious" series... http://www.daz3d.com/pc-curious-and-dubious-sale
but the streetlamps are from City Roads... http://www.daz3d.com/city-roads
Got the coupon. I already bought the spotlights, of course. ;) No worries, I think it's really cool that you gave us a coupon. I'm sure I'll find something to use it on. :)
Uh What coupon? I bought Advanced Ambient when it first came out.
There was supposed to be an additional discount on the spotlight for those that purchased the ambient light before the spotlight or bundle was available. In our communication with marketing that memo got lost. To make up for it we sent out $4 coupons for previous supporters.
Here is the thread about it;
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/461999/
OK, one AAL (red) and one ASL (yellow) set as an area light.
No postwork except the signature.
I downloaded the exe file for this and the ambient and neither works, now I found this thread and I went to get the zip file but neither shows up on my account, only the install with download manager button.
I would like to download the proper zip files...
What does incorrect zip files have to do with the product discount?
In any case, AoA says the DIM download works properly, but he's fixing the manual installer.
So sorry I quoted the wrong post. :)
From another thread
Well, have to say this has been one of my most difficult days as a PA.
I want to sincerely thank you all for your patience with everything surrounding the lights. This has been a very troublesome release. Nothing has gone as intended, yet everyone has been so supportive and understanding.
I embarrassed that EXE installers are still not working properly. The issue is a bit complicated because of the way in which things must be installed but QA is actively working on it.
For now the best I can say is that lights installed using the DAZ Install Manager appear to be working properly. I know many people prefer manual downloads and we hope to have those available again soon.
Again, thank you all so very much for your understanding,
William

Ok there was small trouble BUT you were around, you answered in the forum.
Thanks for your products, thanks for the follow up and the activity here.
Well - purchased the bundle just now, but:
using the DIM brought no results - meaning: DIM does the download (please: where on my machine might DIM place the installers?), but the install process gives me "Install Failed!".
Since I still got the old hierarchy (centered around the "Runtime"), and I do not use any content manager or something like "my library" or somesuch, it really would be more then useful if products would have two options after purchase:
1. use the DIM
2. download the exe/zip.
As things are (the DIM has been "adjusted", so it knows the paths), I can hit the install button for all time, always getting the same "install failed!".
Any kind of help so that at the least I can find the install files for the bundle (DIM has done the download - so it said) will be more then welcome.
Thank you...
I've just gone to download the update but none of the installers appear in My Product Library! I can't even download from DIM as they don't appear in my DIM. Have advised Daz today about this.
I know there is a problem with the .exe files and AoA says he is sorting this out.
Is there a message anywhere that says these have been pulled?
Thanks again AoA for all the hard work you put into your products. I'm having fun playing with the spotlight.
Here's a render using one Adv. spotlight and one Adv. ambient, also uses the SSS shader.
(There's some post to add the dust and debris... sometime will have to try the hat trick of using the Lights, the Volume camera, and the SSS Shader all at once...)
OK, that's too cool. :)
Not sure if anybody else has tried this, I've not read all 42 pages of the thread as I've only just bought the bundle (Ambient installed OK from the .exe, the spotlight didn't so I'm waiting for the update as I don't use DIM)
The Blacklight
A Single Advanced Ambient Light, positioned 150cm off the floor, light colour (UK spelling - I'm picky like that sometimes :) ) set to Black, falloff colour White, Falloff Radius 2.0 Metres (UK spelling again), Falloff Blend 25%.
Could be useful for creepy Halloween images (or the current 'Out of Darkness' contest in the Members forum) not to mention it could be useful for creating masks for post work use.
I guess daz pulled all the files as I bought the spotlight last night went to download it now but doesnt show up in Dim either...
But hey I got the ambient when it came out so no biggy I know it will get sorted sooner or later, Oh did I say Soon-er No that means I have to wait a year or 2... lol
Hi, Jabba. Have you by chance used AoA volumetric camera. If so could you please share your settings for it.
I would like to have some example settings for volumetric camera, that works, to begin using it myself.
So far I have not succeded with setup and default values does not work as expected (no volumetrics to see).
