Texture not showing up on Blender OBJ [Solved]

I modeled a simple chess piece (pawn) in Blender and exported the mesh as an OBJ. Imported into Daz3D a-ok. Added various textures (e.g. NVIDIA MDL Examples, also some IRAY marble assets just purchased). But the pawn only shows a solid color. For marble, it has the correct reflections, but the marble veins never show up. For primitives (plane, sphere), the marble texture shows up a-ok.
I tried copying the texture from the sphere to the pawn, but no luck. Why would only color, glossyness show up on a mesh imported from an OBJ? The base color of the pawn, plane and sphere are set to white. And they all have the proper image loaded as a texture. See attached.
NOTE: The issue isn't just with the preview; an actual IRAY render causes the same output; no veins on the pawn. Just on the plane and sphere.

Did you UV map the model in Blender before export?
I did not. I will look into that.
Phew, thank you Richard. That was the issue. I had to first convert my object to a mesh, then was able to unwrap it in Blender and re-export as an OBJ. DazStudio now renders the texture correctly on it.
