Crowd Billboards issue (SOLVED)

I ran into a problem with  Now-Crowd Billboards - Medieval City Life (https://www.daz3d.com/now-crowd-billboards-medieval-city-life) I uploaded one of it figures to the scene (Picture 1). Then I multiplied it by creating an army of these figures, placed them in rows one by one (Picture 2). And when I rendered this scene through Iray, the result was terrible - the figures are blurred like ghosts (Picture 3). How can I fix this? In 3Delight, everything looks fine (Picture 4), but I want to get a good result in Iray. Help me please!

Off the top of my head, that looks like the slight tinting that can be added through the soft mask is messing it up.  I would try turning the soft mask off.

  • I tried to remove soft mask, but unfortunately it did not help.

Are your billboards alligned perfectly in rows? I'm thinking that the billboards are actually occupying the same space and it's making Iray go crazy. See if you can select all of the billboards in the Scene tab, also select them all in the Parameters tab. Once you have them all selected, you can rotate them a degree or two and see if that fixes it.

  • Wow It really worked! Thanks for the advice, Kitsumo!

I'm glad it worked. It looked similar to a situation I've had before. Happy rendering!
