Ok so it seems you're rendering in Iray and using 3Delight lightshader on the discs? If you want to render in Iray you have to apply teh Iray Uber to the discs and make them emissive , set color to white and opacity cutoff to 0.000001 or thereabout. Sorry I use 3Delight so know little about Iray, some other may give you better instructions about Iray settings. If you want to use 3Delight I can help you just ask;)
Thank you. I've tried to put different methods of light and worked. However, Uber lights still not rendering. So, I decided to put an enviroment HDRI. It worked for what I needed.
One more question: Why you use 3Dlight instead of Iray? The result almost seems to get worse, I mean, so 3d aspect, nothing realistic.
Lot of reasons really;) One thing is I love the freedom that comes with biased rendering, you can do so many things that are impossible in Iray, like turning off shadows for lights or props, deciding if a light will illuminate one thing but not another, that kind of stuff. 3DL handles displacement much better than Iray, or should I say much differently, the list is long
And not everybody is striving for realism.
I use 3DL, like Sven for many reasons, but it suits my workflow far better than Iray. I'm both disappointed and surprised that so many products these days are for Iray only as there have been many I would have bought had they also been for 3DL. I'm surprised as content providers would be selling more if they designed for both. As regards photo-realism the only Iray renders I've seen which could be mistaken for photos have been heavily edited in Photoshop and/or other programmes.
Particulary, I prefer Iray much more than 3DL. Well, I'm trying to make some realistic people cause I'll use it for a book character illustration, and then, I pretend to use Photoshop to edit and make them even more realistic. Honestly saying, I think 3DL render is out of question when the subject is "realistic job". I believe that no one will pay 20 dollars just for post it on pinterest, for example. They will pay this money for something precise.
Thanks for the discussion.
