Would the product Complex Hair Creation by Arki be useful for Blender users?

I want to make hair for the G8 model that I transported/exported into Blender. I have been busy trying both to build a particle hair wig and a polygon type hair wig. I think the polygon would do a better job and be somewhat easier to style. This is my first time making wigs so I am experimenting.
Anyway, these tutorials: https://www.daz3d.com/complex-hair-creation-part-1-modeling look good but I need to know how to texture the wig in blender I have no use for DAZ Studio. I can't afford to buy the last tutorial if I can't use it. The last tutorial is about coloring and such but from the description uses mostly DAZ Studio wich I don't think I could translate to how to do it in Blender. I don't think I need number 2 because I don't need bones in my hair but I am willing to try to use part one in Blender because I think most modeling software is the same.
My question is does anybody know what the third tutorial is like and if it could be adapted to Blender use? A big problem I am having is texturing the wig. I can get the color but because I am using a transparent background .PNG's I am having trouble figuring out how to use specular and bump maps and such to make shine and such so the hair looks more realistic.
Thank You.
PS I am using transparent PNG's because I want more realistic soft edges rather than really hard straight ones. Just in case that is something anybody needs to know.
