'Add node' DForm to AutoFitted Clothes not working

RobertDyRobertDy Posts: 270

Hi,

When i want a deformation on the body to apply to the clothes I go to DForm -> Add Node -> select the D-Former and it works perfectly fine. However in my case now I'm using a clothes originally meant for V4  fitted on G3F using Wear Them All and the Add Node function doesn't work at all, the clothes just remain as it is. I'm not sure if this is a special case for Wear them all fitted clothes because when I use Add Node on clothes originally made for G3F everything's fine. Can someone help?

Thanks!

  • Are you sure you have the right thing selected when using the Add Node button? I can't immediately think of a good reason for it to fail just with converted items.

Yup very sure. To be doubly sure I added an extra clothing of the same type just to confirm that it's got nothing to do with the existing clothes in the scene which might have something in it altered. Didn't work as well.

  • I just tried it, and it worked - this is the 50s Everydaty Dress on Genesis 3 Female.

When you add the node (the clothing) to the deforner, do you see the tell-tale grid of dots on both the figure and the clothing when you select the D-Former?

I once had fits trying to get a deformer on something (I forget what, but it was an older .cr2, or maybe .hr2 hair) that just would not accept it. Turns out it had to go on the first bone in the hierachy before it worked. Don't know if that's a common thing, but something to try.

Thanks Richard and North, I tried using another bone but it didn't work. I tried creating a new G3f model and fitting a v4 clothes on it and then adding node actually worked, but to the specific model I was having problems with, it still doesn't. This is a really weird problem.

    Which item is it?

The clothes I used in particular is https://www.daz3d.com/aphrodite-kallipygos but I found that other V4 clothes don't work as well. I also wonder if this is caused by a custom breast morph I'm using on the problematic model: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/breasts-factory-for-g3f/112202/ First I enlarged the breasts using this morph then applied the d-form to the breast area so I'm not sure if this morph 'registered' with V4's clothes

You could try right-clicking on the figure and selecting Transfer Active Morphs, if those are morphs (which the product says they are). If you want to use a dForm to match the moprhs, or tidy up the auto matching, then it would surely be better to apply it to the clothing in the first place.

Ok what I did was click on G3F then go to Assets -> Transfer Active Morphs but it said 'you must select a Figure with parametric joint parameters..........' so nothing happens. Right clicking on G3F doesn't show any Transfer Active Morphs option.

Check the parameters for the morph, it must be set to "autofollow" if you want the clothes to adjust automatically to it.

Right, sorry - I was thinking of Victoria 4 still. As Leana says, check the AutoFollow setting.

Okay, the morph is one thing, but back to the deformer, although that might no longer be what you want to do.

I autofit the Aphrodite Kallipygos outfit to G3 Female. Select G3 and create a new D-Former, then select the top and panty and Add Node(s) in the DForm tab pane and select the deformer to add it to the dress parts. The dot grid should show on all elements when you go back to the D-Former in the scene. That's all there is to it.

Auto follow is automatically turned on, so it isn't the cause of the problem. Then, I applied a D-Former to the clothing but when I clicked the field, no dots show up on the clothes even though I moved the field all around. This is a really weird problem. EDIT: I mentioned in my previous reply that when I opened a new scene and loaded a new G3F then loaded a V4 clothing, adding a DForm node to the clothing worked perfectly. HOWEVER when in this particular problematic scene, when I did the same thing with a newly-loaded G3F model, it doesn't work. Could there be something in the scene itself, like maybe conflicting IDs or something that is causing this malfunction?
