    Hello!

Studio doesn't know where you want the scene put or what you want to call it, unless you have saved it before, so it uses save as so you can fill in the blanks

  • Please don't bump.

DS does not do a plain save if the current author (set in Edit>Preferences, or Daz Studio>Preferences for a Mac) does not match the creator of the file - it's a safety feature, to avoid accidentally overwriting third-party content files. Set your Author name (to anything, it doesn't have to be your real name if you don't want to use it) and File>Save should work normally for future scenes.
