Surfaces Panel isn't working!?!?!

Folks,

I'm going crazy here trying to track this down.  But my surfaces panel has stopped working (Daz 3.10.0.123).

I was doing some LIE editing with the Eclipse suit, and the surface panel just stopped displaying the settings for the Eclipse suit.  I was getting ticked, so I shelved it a week or so back, and went back to work on it tonight.

The panel looks like it should be working, I have the Eclipse suit (or other item) selected in the Scene, expand it in the Surfaces Editor Panel, and select Sleeves, and normally, it would show me all the settings on the right.

Now, all I get is the "What can I do?" text in the panel.

I've tried other objects, different files, and even pulling up some V4 stuff, to see if I can get it to work.  Nada.

Now please note, if I choose "ALL" in the Surface Editor, it'll show everything properly.  It is the sub-items in the list that are not showing up.

Please any suggestions would be welcome.

Partial Update / Clarification:

Expanding the items, and then selecting each and every subsection (eg General, Diffuse, etc) does display the selections. (Thank goodness)

So as an example:

* Skirt
      * Apron
             * General
             * Diffuse
             * Specular

Originally, I would click on Skirt or Apron, and I would get all of the subsettings listed on that panel.  Now, it appears that I have to click down through the entire list.  Previously clicking on Apron would roll up all the sublistings very much like it does with the object parameters.

I don't recall changing any settings that would affect this, nor any updates, maybe a Windows update broke something???

    A screenshot of the DAZ Studio interface might help, indicating what you are seeing.

    Sorry, I keep forgetting that Doesn't Image link, isn't the way to go.  File Attach's are at the bottom, offscreen.

    You're looking at presets, switch to editor?

    Nope, I'm still in editor.  Just nothing shows up, unless I choose "ALL", which then affects the entire object, and not the specific "section" I want to modify.

    To ask the obvious - have you clicked on the little arrow to the left of the surafce name to expand the selection?

    Thank you for the suggestion, and it helped, but not to solve the solution.  It helped clarify the issue.

    I'll modify my original message with this update.

    if you use the surface selection tool should expand

  • if you use the surface selection tool should expand

    Thanks, It selects the left side bar for the item, but does not show the actual properties.

    I'm pretty sure I can recall this happening to me, and I never got to the bottom of it.  There was a suggestion about a change to make ... er, somewhere, but it made no difference from what I remember.  I fear you are fated to have to drill down via clicking ... crying

  • Do you have Show Sub Items checked at bottom-right of the pane? If not it will show items in the main area only when you have the precise group they are in selected on the left.

    I'll take a look when I get home from work.  But I do not recall ever seeing that check box???  Sadly, my screen shot was cropped, so I can't check that...

  • Okay, that indeed was the problem.  The Checkbox was indeed the culprit.

    Thanks everyone..  I can now get back to work.
