Hey, has anyone here purchased this product?

I just bought it yesterday and am just playing around with it. There's a few things I'm still a little confused about. In the promo images, it showed a night time render. Are there supposed to be settings somewhere to indicate the time of day?

I'm assuming that since it depicts an outside and inside environment, that it was meant to be used with either the sky and scene or both. Something I don't have much experience in yet!

other than that, I'm very satisfied with the product! I hope this designer keeps adding new things to the Daz Store!!

Thanks!

The product doesn't come with the render settings. The Iray set comes with emissive lamps, though. What you can do for outside night render is set the environment mode to scene only (Render settings -> Environment -> Environment mode -> cene only) and render through a camera without the headlamp.

  • Thanks, y3kman!

I have been all over the place on this! Some of renders turn out fine, other's are a complete mess! Mostly, what I'm experimenting with right now is being on the outside looking in. So basically what would you need to do in order for someone to be outside looking inside with everything looking correct?

Here is a very quick render, minus the sky of course. The tones and colors seem to be ok, I think.

  • I bought it as well. My only wish is that the different floors had been individual scenes. If I'm doing a scene on the second floor, or where ever, I don't need the rest of the stuff loaded. I appreciate that the props can be loaded by floor but it would be nice if that extended to the whole floor. I get that for outside shots you need the whole structure but if you're inside...

If it's slowing down your renders, you could use Iray Section Node Planes to block off the first and third floors, that way their geometry won't be calculated. If you're worried about textures and memory usage, you can use Geometry Editor and erase those two floors, that way the textures shouldn't get loaded.

I can but it would be easier if the author had just built the prop as a modular set in the first place. having all that loaded in most renders is just a waste.

Yeah, you do have a point there. If it's that big of a deal to you, there's alway the return policy. Or you can let the PA himself know how you feel. He was just in the other thread a few days ago https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/287036/what-the-petipet.

Yeah, a nice set... and if @petipet decides to add windows that can be opened and single walls that can be made invisible in his next building set it might convinve me to buy that, too.

I am glad that you wrote your comments, now I will know what to do in the next product. I will take into consideration your wishes. Very good when there is a feedback between the manufacturer and the user.
    Thanks.
