Daz Studio, assuming that is what you mean, is not a painting application. You could use brushes to create an image in Photoshop which you then apply to a model as a texture, but the image creation is done in the editor.
I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear on this. Using DAZ3D 4.10 and photoshop brushes from deviney, "Ron's Winter Bundle", "Ron's Ripped Fabric", and "Ron's Blood II".
As I said, Daz Studio is not a painting application, so it doesn't use the brushes.
Even though the brushes don't work in Daz, if you have Photoshop then I highly recommend Deviney's brushes. I collect Photoshop brushes almost fanatically (I work with Photoshop a lot in my day job) and Deviney produces some of the best quality brush sets I've encountered. They're well worth the investment and extremely useful.
The main idea with those brushes is that you render an image in Daz, then load up the rendered image in Photoshop and use the brushes to further enhance it. For example you might render a picture of a beach with props used for the same and sea, then use Ron's wave brushes to cover the point where they meet. Some of the brushes are also useful when creating textures for Daz objects.
Note that a lot of graphics programs can work with PS brushes, I use them in Paint Shop Pro.
An example of using Ron's brushes in an image, from my best gallery image.
Here's the image as rendered by Daz, Licorne afloat (for now) in the iREAL Animated Ocean:
Loading that image into PaintShop Pro and applying some of Ron's Waves and Rain brushes transforms it to this:
