Laptop freezes when rendering

Hello. Recently, my laptop has experienced freezing right when I start to render an image. I haven't had this issue before. Does anyone know what might be the issue? It usually happens 3-10 minutes into the render. Have I run out of video memory or something?

If it's afterthe render starts it isn't the transfer of data to the GPU, which was my first thought. You can check to see if the GPU dropped out by looking in the log file - Help>Troubleshooting>View Log File - after rendering.
