Accessing individual items (props) in a "complete" scene file

I will ask this question in relation to a specific product, but hopefully the answer will apply in many situations.
I purchased the ArchDetails_vol.3 product, which is a superbly detailed scene of a patio with furniture and numerous other props. The product loads as a complete scene, with all the furniture and props in place. I can select individual items and move or delete them, etc., but I don't know how to add an individual prop, in this scene or another. Is there a straightforward way to access an individual item, such as the table or a stack of books?

If you're asking how to extract a component of this scene to use in another, you can save as a "scene subset" - which lets you select the part(s) of the scene you want to save in a separate file.
If you're asking how to incorporate other elements into this scene, you need to "merge" the file into your scene, instead of opening it.
So I have to save a scene subset for each item I want to be able to re-use... I was afraid of that.
Okay, so I am able to create a .duf file for an individual prop in the scene. How do I then install that into my content library so it shows up as a separate prop, within the ArchDetails_vol.3 "product" so that I can easily add it into a scene? I know I can do File > Merge and navigate to the file in my hard drive directory, but I'd like to be able to access it from the Content Library tab, preferably inside the product.
If you save it to a mapped content directory then it should appear in the folder saved to under Daz studio Formats, and it should also appear in the Saved Files category. You can then drag it into the same category as ArchDetails itself.
Thank you, Richard, I'll give that a try.
