Grainy Renders and Plenty of Light

Obviously you have more patience than I do. The longest render I ever did was about 6 hours and I let it start before I went to bed because doing anything else on my laptop is impossibly slow while rendering. I have an i7 2.4 Ghz quad-core CPU, 16 Gb RAM, Win7 Ultimate, NVIDIA GTX 765m 2Gb VRAM laptop. I can't imagine how you could do anything else on your system during renders except maybe some slow web browsing. Iray rendering is just harsh for our lower-end systems. If something doesn't turn out right, its hours of time down the drain.

The portrait ones aren't they are rendered to fit on the forum so they are easier to view, but the newer full scene renders are. Did you click on them to enlarge them?

This is one I just finished. It is 1920x1080 older ones were 1280x720 to fit on my laptop screen and older ones than that were 1496x997. I change the sizes as needed or for a specific purpose but my default is 1920x1080 now.

The focus is on the baby elephant with the spot shining on it, the rest is background. I actually dropped all the lighting on it from the original settings.
