Display problems with a clean install on a new PC

Clean install on a new PC. I think I have all the drivers and such updated fully. No problems with other software, but DAZ is giving me white blocks instead of the scene navigation tools (see attached).

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Update - switching layouts and styles doesn't change anything. Forgot to mention that.

  • This is usually a GPU issue - if your sysyem has a GPU on he CPU and a separate GPU, make sure DS is set to use the stand-alone - check the nVidia or Catalyst Control Panel, depending on brand.

Note that you can use the Windows Snipping Tool to take proper screen shots, rather than taking a picture with your phone.

  • Thanks for the very fast and informative response. I'm afraid we have another problem in that you are clearly smarter than I am. If I understand correctly, you mean that I should change an setting in my nVidia control panel to treat a specific application (Daz) differently. Is that correct?

  • Yes, I believe there should be an application-specific setting if you have two GPUs - I don't, so I can't give precise details.

  • Ha..okay...here's a funny solution...while installing software, I connected the new machine to a second monitor. Out of curiousity, I booted DAZ to see if the problem existed on both monitors.

Not only did it display properly on the new monitor...that magically fixed the original display.

So, we'll call that a win!

Thanks again for your help, it really means a lot to people like me!
