Wise Wizard dForce simulation for 'Hood Down'

stephangrixtistephangrixti Posts: 70

Hello, I am using the Wise Wizard clothing. I have applied the dForce to the whole cloak, then the 'Hood Down' preset to the hood, but when I simulate nothing happens, and the hood remains the same way. What am I doing wrong? I followed along an article from Daz about applying dForce and using a dForce preset, but for me nothing happened after it finishes...

  • So this isn't a general issue, it's specific to this item?

  • Please do not create a new thread for each question since you are still trying to work with the same thing. You may edit the title to better describe the problem.

  • The Wise Wizard items already have dForce modifiers applied - if you are trying to apply them again are you sure you are using the Dynamic Surface, not the Static Surface? I just tested the outfit and the hood falls down reasonably correctly, with a zero-posed figure.

And I have tried it now without any other clothing and hair on the figure and IT HAS ALSO WORKED but when I add all the other clothing of the Wizard it doesn't!!

  • I had the full assemblage loaded, from the wearables preset.

  • Can you please tell me the exact steps you made, so that I can check myself? maybe you changed the Collission Layer of the other layers of clothing?

  • I loaded the Wearables preset, seelcted the cloak, applied the Hood Down preset, and simulated.

Ok, now it has worked thanks, BUT now I have a problem with the posing of the Wizard and his staff, as after I fit the staff in his hand and apply the pose the wizard either goes upside down or the hooded cloak goes crazy and twists around the staff. Do you know why is this?

I want to apply the pose where there is labeled staff on the icon....

Morgan le Fay is annoyed, while Merlin is rather amused.

    Morgan is pissed

I couldn't resist and made a render with both recently released wizard/sorceress outfits. And yes, there is a difference in skin to fabric ratio between the male and female one. wink

Hello, I am trying to pose the Wizard after applying dForce for the 'Hood Down' but when I apply any pose, the clothes become deformed and twist around the figure.... can you please tell me what to do? as I can't use any of the poses I bought, and the only moment when the poses work is when the figure is nude....

Did I understand you correctly? You start the dForce simulation first and pose afterwards? It must be the other way around. I usually do:

    1. Cloth my character.
    2. Setup the pose.
    3. Start the dForce simulation.

I had some poke through which I removed with Gimp. But I never had deformed or twisted clothes.

Merged comments split from: Wise Wizard HD for Genesis 8 Male [Commercial]. Please don't post the same question in multiple threads as it leads to duplication of effort

Do you mean the Wise Wizard staff In Hand Pose? That should be applied to the Genesis 8 male, it's a Hiearchical pose that adjusts both hand and staff 9and shouldn't affect the rest of the figure). If you are applying a general pose, chnaging the position of the limbs and so on, you have to do that before simualting the cloth - the simulation isn't live, it runs and then leaves the clothes in their draped shape so any chnage in pose will deform the clothing until you run a fresh simulation.

I created a new scene, and created a new Wizard with clothing and no simulation and I still had the same problem, even in the first photo you can see that when I tried to move the right arm manually the clothing didn't move correctly. It's like the clothing are coming up automatically dForced....

  • This one is with the pose

  • Ah, a pose from the expansion set - I was looking only at the base set with the clothes. To a large extent that is expected, depnding on how the clothing is rigged - the simulation should take care of that, though having looked again I think you will need to adjust the hand/arm pose to make sure that the staff isn't intersecting the cloak in the starting pose, Edit>Figure>Memeorise>Memorise Figure Pose, then apply the pose you want o use and run the Simulation (making sure the option to start from the meorised pose is selected in the Simulation Settings pane)
