Disk now appears under all figures loaded...

Has anyone seen this before? Suddenly any figure I load into a scene is accompanied by a black/white disk underneath - any figure/prop - G3, G8, a bucket, etc... I can highlight it but not delete.
When I move the figure x, y or z tran the disk may move away from it but is still linked to it. In the example attachment any figure I click on will reveal the associated "disk" on the ground.
I don't know the extent of the issue - my immediate reaction is that it's very annoying & I can't remove it. Anyone else experience this?

I may have fixed it... I don't know why it appeared but once I clicked the Node Selection Tool it went away...
FYI - The disk appears when using the Animate2 tool. It's not on my visible toolbar & was accidently clicked...
Yes, it is part of AniMate 2.
