Random white specks in IRAY renders

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but my renders keep having random white pixels scattered over the entire scene.

Also, I'm trying to create a skid mark effect on the ground behind the griffon to show how far he traveled when he crashed slid landed.

The preview looks good, but the render is rather lacking.

I hope someone can help with this. Thanks.

  • Your preview is Texture Shaded and not Iray.

Did you already tried to change progressive settings? Set an higher Max Samples/Max Time and maybe Rendering converged ratio to 99%

A bit of an 'educated guess', but that noise is probably caused by the 'TD3_Atmospehere' object in the scene. AFAIK, that is used for 'atmospheric effects' like light rays etc. It does take a lot of iterations for the noise to clear, and thus alot of time (esp on cpu only...). Try hiding or deleting the 'td3...'

Yep, I recognized that scene as soon as I saw it. I had the same problem. Never did figure out a solution other than hiding the atmosphere.

As far as skid marks on the ground, OP, you could try using a deformer to make depression in the ground, or make a displacement texture, but that would probably increase render time with such a large mesh.
