Attaching/welding a piece of cloth to another object before Dforce simulation?

Hi.  I am playing around with Dforce some for the first time, and I have a piece of cloth that is parented to another object that I am running a simulation on.  Is there any way to "attach" the cloth to the geometry of the parent so that it doesn't fly away when I run the simulation?  Thank you.

  • If it's literally flying away that sounds like an issue with the geometry, as it tries to diffuse the energy it ends up propelling itself through space. If it's just sliding off, you can use a weight map or a new Surface zone set to 0 Dynamic Strength as a pin - for example, use the Geometry Editor tool to select a polygon resting on the support, right-click>Geometry Assignment>Create Surface from Selected, then apply the base shader to the new surface, copy the surface settings across, and set the Dynamic Strength to 0 in the Surfaces pane.

I think that will work for this.  Thank you very much Richard.
