"Crushed black" shadows I can't fix.

In this 3Delight render, I get black under the hand and under the index finger. I have "uber environment-softbox" on, with uber-bounce light also on. Without softbox those areas are burnt bright and hot. Anything I can do, or is just a software glitch?

Try increasing shadow bias and maybe changing the max error value for the UE2 light. Are you rendering in progressive mode? If not, what is the shading rate in the render settings pane, maybe it's set too low? Do you have gamma correction on and gamma set to 2.2?
Thanks. Those are the kinds of things I was hoping someone would tell me about. I'll begin investigating and playing with those.
