Change the geometry of an exported object?

Hi, I need some help. I wanted to create a new morph for G8F after modeling the base figure. However, by accident, I forgot to unparent the eyelashes before exporting--shame on me. So, of course, now every time I try to use Morph Loader Pro I get an unmatching geometry error. I should also add: I was so stupid that I forgot to save the original figure that I exported as an object. So I cannot export it again because only have the object saved. Question: Is there a way to get this fixed by modifying the object and have it match the G8F geometry?

  • I'm struggling to think of a good option.

If you delete the geometry of the eyelashes on your morphed G8F in your modelling software you may be able to get the correct number of vertices, but the process could well change the vertex order of the remaining vertices.  In that case, Morph Loader Pro will give results from odd to very ugly indeed.

If your modelling software has an option to create something like  'morph targets' or 'shape keys' from two shapes with the same vertex count, you may be able to create a 'morph target' for G8F representing your desired morph, after deleting the eyelash geometry.  If that process somehow managed to cope with any mismatches in the vertex order, then you could perhaps apply that shape to G8F, export the reshaped G8F to OBJ and bring it into DS via MLP.

Clutching at straws, I'm afraid.  Maybe someone else will have a better idea.
