Question about 'Remove Base Directory'

Under Daz Formats (at the top of Content Library), I clicked on 'Remove Base Directory', thinking it would remove the file path I set up there.
...but nothing happened, that I could see.
Does 'Remove Base Directory' mean something else?
And how do I remove the path: 'Behind The Mask'? ...or any other path (sorry if I'm using the wrong term) I've set up there, without affecting anytyhing else?

If you right-click on a path in the Content Library and select the remove ... option the path will be renoved from the list that DS checks - but not, I think, if it's the last one under Daz Studio Formats. Nothing will be done to the files or folders on disc.
Hello, I highlighed the last path in....Poser Formats? ...Or Daz Studio Formats? ...I cannot remember which, off hand... (and right-clicked, I think.) Anyway, I clicked on 'Remove Base Directory', hoping to removed that one path. ...and everything immediately stopped working, i couldn't even load saved files anymore. (I was already Having serious Smart Content and Content Library issues- they didn't work anymore, but...I was able to load saved files and work on them, and manually load ...clothing for example, and work and save the figure.)
10 seconds after I clicked on 'Remove Base Directory', EVERYTHING stopped working!
If you remove the directory that has the content the content will no longer load - are you sure that the directory that you removed should have been unneeded?
You know, it occurs to me, that I was desiring to remove a product I had placed on the list (in the above screenshot- right) by highlighting it, and right-clicking, when...I should have opened Content Manager and removed it from the Formats list. (I wasn't highlight Daz Studio Formats, but a product to the right of it. ...I did the same thing in Poser Formats, also. ...with bad results.)
....if that is so, what does 'Remove Base Direactory' actually do? (One time, I clicked 'Remove Base Directory' completely by accident, when my finger inadvertantly clicked the mouse button.)
Remove Base Directory tells DS to stop using that location as a content directory - it won't show it in the Content Library or search in it for files.
