How do I make a product for DAZ Studio? (Solved)

I made a set of .obj files that comprise a single prpoposed product. I want to make a downloadable DAZ Product from this.

Any good video tutorials out there?

  • Is it a figure or a prop?

    Prop. A car wheel rim.

  • My usual advice is:

    1. Create a new folder outside your existing content directories
    2. Set that folder as a Daz Studio content diectory
    3. Place your textuers, if any, in that folder in some folder in /Runtime/Textures
    4. Import your OBJ, apply texture and material settings, make any other needed adjustments
    5. File>Save As>Support Assets>Figure/Prop Asset
    6. Save the prset into your new content directory, e.g. /Props/Transport/Car Parts/Wheel rim
    7. In the options dialogue make sure your new directory is listed as the base content directory, set your Author and product names as desired
    8. Add your read me to the content directory
    9. Zip the whole of the content dierctory up - it should have all the files needed for your prop, and is ready to merge with the end-user's content directory
