Boolean Problems

In Hexagon, I used the Boolean operation when making a drywall knife and a handplane.  The items look fine in Hexagon.  As the "send to Daz Studio" function does nothing I "export>Wavefront OBJ", then import into DAZ, and see the problems highlighted by the red arrows. The rivet holes are ragged, the plane blade has extra facets, the plane base is messed up.   Maybe the problem is with the OBJ and if I could get the DAZ bridge to work...

  • Did you collaspe the dynamic geometry in hexagon? (Lightning button on the info tab at bottom-right, as I recall.) I suspect you have polygons with an angled bite taken out (n-gons or quads thata re chevron-shaped) - DS doesn't like those, and they may account for some of the extra facet issues. The ragged holes may need an extra edge loop, ot adjustment to the Smoothign Angle in the Surfaces pane in DS.

  • No, I did not collapse the Dynamic Geometry.  I'll try your suggestions. Thank you for your answer.
