Oh they look deadly! Particularly like the illuminating axe, very nice fantasy feel about them and love the Bump/Displacement on the metals. Great stuff ArtCo! :)

*winces, worried the evil sorcerer Jaderail will charge after me with a monster Axe!* (I must buy 2 of them, to counter him  )

Thanks Spyro! We were going for a more high fantasy feel to it with as much versatility as we could muster :) Also put a lot of time into the texturing to be sure it rendered with really nice details that weren't lost from up close or far away

On Jaderail, well what can I say...he is eeeeeeeevil so I do not doubt your assessment hehehe I will keep you in my thoughts that you can counter his attacks :) I could block him from using the magical axe to try and give you the advantage but he is pretty tricksey so not sure it would work ;) :)

Well you guys nailed it, very impressed. Close up detail is very good. I get right into surfacing as Jade knows, am in a "render battle" with him, (He's very tricksey indeed) I shot him with an arrow with humorous precision, then he lit my behind on fire and sent me fleeing! I must face him again, might take you up on your proposed combat strategy, might need you and Art co's Armory to take this guy down :snake:

LOOOOL Sounds like a very serious render battle indeed! Well if you happen to try out the weapons in battle you'll have to post a render so we can see :)

Bought them already. WISH LIST SUGGESTION: I'd love to see an axe, sword, and bow that had a face on it (like the skull) that had built in expressions so it could "advise or nag" it's wielder as the case warranted....... which is what I'm intending with this axe.

Thanks for the ideas and feedback we will definitely consider it :) I tend to like to do faces and heads and expressions etc so its very possible. We do have a staff pack (if you haven't seen it) that is a DAZ O that also has a head with various expressions etc here: http://www.daz3d.com/mystical-touch the weird demony head has some expressions to it :) Only two though that make it meaner as I recall. As you can see though doing that is something I like to do so you never know ;) :)

They were created before Genesis 2 was released so they don't have a preset for Genesis 2 but they are props so like any other they will work with Genesis 2 and the human scale should work fine with Genesis 2 as well since there isn't a vast difference height wise between Genesis and Genesis 2. Honestly the Genesis parent may work on Genesis 2 though I haven't gotten to try it :)

Just purchased this weapons set, but the settings (at least, in Daz Studio) are leaving me quite puzzled!

In both Smart Content and the 'manual' way of finding products, there are a whole bunch of materials settings. I'm finding at least three apparently identical icons for each colour - all with the same 'EyesNo...Orange' and 'BBlade_GlowBlue' sort of titles. How do I decide which of these three different settings for the same colour I should use?

Looking forward to using it, because the supplied morphs make it tremendously diverse.

    Hi Xenomorphine!
It sounds like you don't have the File Extensions turned on in DS. There are a few different formats for the mat files IIRC on this one so you are probably seeing them all at the same time.

To turn on the File Extensions in DS:
Hit the F2 button to bring up the Preferences Tab
    Select the Content Library Pane
Under the Display section at the top you will see "Show File Extensions" just click this and hit apply

    Hope this helps!

In Edit > Preferences > Content Library, tick the box for "Show File Extensions" -- the .duf version is the best one for DS4.5+

If you're seeing 3 or 4 versions, it may be that your content directories are incorrect. Go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats", and post a screenshot?

Interesting! Never knew about that! Thank you!

Doesn't seem to change Smart Content, but locating it in the A-Z of the Content Library now shows the file extensions. :) Looks like I have to hover the mouse over each one. That identifies stuff with the '.mc6' file type as having a '.duf' type, as you suggest. The other two material settings for all colours/patterns are labelled '.pz2' - guessing those are Poser-relevant?

'DAZ Studio Formats' is a labyrinthine mystery which seems to locate products under weird and obscure headings.I did look under 'props' and 'weapons', but there was no 'Monstrous Touch Weapons' under those sections.

I pretty much exclusively install things through the DIM. If something screwed up, it wasn't me! :)

The 'A-Z' listing is still using the database to display the files. If you used the Poser Format section the .pz2 files would most likely be under Poses and the .mc6 files under Materials. The .duf files will be somewhere under the DAZ Studio Formats usually in a sub-folder of the item's folder.

The pack was created back before the .duf file format so the mats etc are .dsa.

You should be able to find them in the Poser Runtime structure in DS. So if you go to Runtime - Libraries - Props and load say the axe, it will automatically load the dsa for the axe. Then if you want to load other things to it (change the colors) you can either go to Runtime - Libraries - Pose or Runtime -Libraries - Materials and use the .dsa files there but just pick one or the other. If you go to the Smart Content Area what you will see is all of those places files...which is why you are seeing multiples in the Smart Content.

Back when we did the pack some people were still using Poser PZ2 Files and some Poser MC6 Files, some moved to DS 4 and some were still back on DS3 and so we put the files in the newer and older places so people had the choice where they wanted to load from. I am terribly sorry it has caused confusion. In honesty if you decide you rather load from the Pose Folder, you can delete the folder under Runtime - Libraries - Materials or Delete the one under Libraries - Pose if you rather use the Materials folder. You don't per say need both. Just be sure you leave the files under Props :) And the either the one under Materials or the one under Pose (either or) Personally, I would ditch the Runtime - Libraries - Pose Folder and leave Materials.

Anyway hope that better explains why you are seeing what you are (the tons of files) and so so sorry for any confusion :(
