G2F bot armor

Hi there!
I wonder if there'll be a male version of this and when we will see it in the store

Was thinking the same thing :)
But I am sure it will come soon...DAZ soon ;)
I hope so. But given that the Genesis version was essentially not designed to deal with males at all -- with the exception of V4 Males, there weren't any that could completely use it as intended -- and given the other products in Parris' store, I wouldn't lay odds. But one can hope.
I hope there's a male version as well, considering I haven't loaded the female in months, I can't see myself making the expediture. We were going to work on male texture and morphs using the genesis bot, but then Gen2 came around and the texture wasn't to a standard to work with (along with other issues), so that was scrapped.
Bot Genesis is basically the same stuff. I've used it as an armor with the Supersuit underneath to hide the joint mechanisms.
Looks good Tim!
I like the Bot from the front, but the rear is blatantly butt so not buying it.
I admit I like it some components and am considering set 2 for the weapon arm component which hopefully can be applied to men too... but it is difficult to shell out this much at this time, especially when I own the previous bot, and these seem more geared to be sexy, which I have limited use for.
thanks!
I had a lot of hand-me-downs when I was a kid, clothes and toys, so I always had parts of toy sets missing that I'd need to improvise a fix for.
That looks rather awesome!
Odd question but can the Bot armor add on textures be used on the V4 Bot Armor?
What I'm wondering is if this product can be worn by Genesis and still look good. If anyone care to try a conversion using SickleYields BF2 Clone she has in her store then post a render, that would be great. :)
The product is geografted so I doubt it.

Including the gun arms and helmet?
Not buying this product then. >:-(

Most helmets & other headdresses can be worn by any character, the secret is to just use them as props rather than figures. Parent them instead of fit them and then use the X,Y & Z resizing for fitting options. It works with some hairs too, especially short ones.

And what about the gun arms?
I tried it on G2M and G1. Bad news, it's not going to work with G1 because of the geografts.
Good news, it IS going to work beautifully with G2M. Because his face order is the same as G2F's, the geografts work, and because he automatically picks up her UVs and mats, the textures work. This is kinda huge. ;) I could wish there was a no-crack option in all cases, but eh. Be sure to create a "zero hands only" pose for yourself before using poses with it if you're using the guns.
You could even use the gens with it if you for some reason want them; because the texturing is completely shader-based you can just copy the shader from the torso over (obviously I can't show that).
I forgot about the face order, dangit... I thought I was keeping money in the bank today (silly me... luckily I got dinner and booze for the weekend so I'm prepared ;) )
I got something to test it on too! :coolsmirk:

I know, seriously. I got up this morning, looked at the newsletter, and flipped my lid and bought a bunch of stuff. Fellow PAs are sure helping DAZ get back the money they're paying me. :D

Well hopefully I can get some money I gave DAZ back sometime in the future.
Thanks Zev! that looks good. Agreed, don't like the butt crack wish there was a smooth option.
I would probably buy it if there was a less er clingy option.
Thanks for doing some testing. Are the gun arms geografted or can they fit to be made to fit Genesis?

They're a full geografted arm piece, not just the gun end, so no. Also, autofit doesn't treat the ends well with regard to Genesis' hands.
The gun arms are completely geografted, so no fitting to Genesis.
The grafting points are quite different from Bot Genesis. The pelvic area (and the buttocks in back) are NOT replaced. The legs attach along the hips and the torso geograft stops around the waistline (maybe a tad lower). So people complaining about the buttcrack... that's stock G2.
For whoever asked if the addon texture pack will work with the original Bot Genesis, the answer is no. There are texture masks and displacement maps specific to the shapes of the new G2F Bot Armor UVs.
Also, the 'look' of this new set is actually rather different from Bot Genesis (for example., you don't have all the inner glowing armature at the joints). So I consider it justified, even with already owning Bot Genesis. I've been working on kitbashing a G2F Bot Armor figure and tweaking the materials for use in Reality/LuxRender most of the day...
Thanks for the replies. Now I know that I won't be getting this product since it's not compatible with Genesis nor is there a Genesis version of this product. Yes, I know there is Bot Genesis but it doesn't have nearly as many cool options nor do I have the option of turning it into armor without having to resort to using a different product.
Yep, got it working on G2M.. had to convert the old face to V6 and do some editing to get rid of the makeup though...
Nice one Male-M3dia! Looks good. =-)
Finally finished up my first render with Bot Armor for G2F. I went for more of a hybrid cyborg look than full-on bot, so using the legs and one gun arm. The new Nyx dress for G2F worked well, too, since the front of the dress has three custom bones and the rear has two custom bones, allowing for much better movement.

Can the armor be adjusted in the chest area? It looks like he's got manboobs.
Lol huh? I didn't post anything:) But you're welcome:)

It can. It follows the figures shape. So if the figure has moobs, then the armor will have moobs. If the figure shape has a flat chest, it will have a flat chest. Either way, if you have the body morphs for the figure you can change the appearance in the chest area. The armor will follow what is on the base shape:)
Thanks Zev0. That's certainly logical.
Since G2M and G2F are different models and weren't made to be used interchangeably like Genesis, it just seems natural to assume some distortions would appear when applying a G2F product on G2M.
