Was pretty sure it was monthly. Used to be. Oh, well.
Still free without watermarks or sub-intelligent feces, so not a big thing. It encodes to YouTube standards, as well. For the average YouTuber, it's as much as one needs.
_ alright then _ and Yeah, For the average it can do all one needs _ and More
My windows 10 laptop has game bar which can record any open or active screen to record decktop you have to click your desktop bar to make it active in the game bar to record your decktop screen other wise just hit your windows key and G at the same time to open Game bar to record in video any active screen . Its not perfect but it does a fair job for a built in windows feature
Windows 10 makes and shares, as Ivy has said, video recording capability as part of the XBox Gaming Experience. It's intended for sharing videos of your game play but can be used for other things.
AMD's Radeon Software that you can optionally install if you have Radeon GPU (and maybe their CPUs as well as I have both I can't be sure) also has free video recording included with that free Radeon software (not really free you bought AMD branded products to get it). You can record whole screen or just a window on the screen.
nVidia probably has similar utilities but I don't have an nVidia GPU to try that out.
Okay, then. Lots of really crazy stuff in here. Most of it bad.
First, if you're dealing with your own channel, download your videos from the Video manager. No tool required. For encoders, (streaming/recording), go grab OBS as someone just above recommended. I personally use XSplit for streaming/recording, but you specified free.
Here's a list of software that may come in handy:
Open Broadcasting Software (OBS): Recording. Free software, does most everything, can be hard to wrap your head around initially.
Audacity: Again free, but this does just sound recording. Makes it easier to do the video records first, and then add the audio after.
Lightworks: Editing software that is free-to-start, but you have to log in on a monthly basis to renew your license. Nothing major.
I've been doing YT for rather a long time now (mostly video games), and with the exception of OBS (which most youtubers use), those are my go-tos. Just be aware that if you're trying to record footage of Studio, you'll want to use Monitor capture. Smartscreen or program captures can be hit-or-miss.
Welcome to the Dark Side, Miss Bad Wolf. The cookies are on a plate to your right, on the other side of your mouse ;)
OBS states it no longer supported for windows 7 users . (yes there is a lot of us still) and my windows 10 laptop already has a video screen capture tool for video recording so why would you need OBS for windows 10.
You are correct you can use YouTube uploader which has a video editing tool. its pretty good for basic uploads . but it is rather limiting on uploading audio files or adding extra tracks , with YouTube video uploader I found your better off pre-making or editing all your videos before you use uploader to organzine it faster in the YouTube video editor. unlike a standalone video editor you can string or overlay videos all together , or make edits and add FX more efficiently.Yuotube has come along way . But its not close to what Adobe premier can do. Yes I do agree obs was awesome for windows 7. but with window10 its not needed anymore.
First, I would never recommend using YouTube to edit videos. You can use the Video Manager to download your own videos. Downloading other people's videos requires tools that YT will despise you for using. Not that they can do anything about it, mind. Those also don't work in Chrome or any of its derivatives.
As for the screencapture software that comes with Win10, caveat emptor. I personally found it worse than useless.
@Ivy I use the latest version of OBS on win7 pro with no problem.
As a matter of fact I didn't even know it didn't support Win7 anymore until you mentionned it.
I haven't used OBS in a while so when it was mentioned earily in the thread. I went to the site and i just happen to notice where it said it was not offered for w7 anymore . maybe your using a earily version. that was the only reason I mentioned it. i have not used OBS in over a year. I use shadow play game overlay which comes with my NVIDIA GPU in the Gefocre experience app
I installed OBS on my Win7 machine because without a graphics card I cannot use Shadowplay
that leaves me with few options
did it work on w7? because the site says it only supported w8.w8.1 and w10 on the download button area so i didn't bother trying it i have no idea if it works or not i was just going by the site info https://obsproject.com/

well my installation did last time I used it but I haven't used it for a while
Like I said Wendy I uninstalled OBS when i installed geforce experience app. on my w7 machine i just use the w10 screen cap tool for my laptop so I am only going by the OBS site said when i went to the download. you should try it though and see if it still works @xmasrose (aka tulipe) Said it still worked for her.
I have an old iPad Mini 2 16GB that has USB but also has wireless capability. So, I could connect wirelessly to my local area network and copy files to and from my Windows server or my Final Cut Pro editor ProTools mixer on the Mac G5.
However, I find I prefer using a Verbatim 32GB iStore 'n' Go Dual USB 3.0 Flash Drive - 32 GB - Lightning, USB 3.0 - Graphite because I can transfer to it from the iPad that has very little space and then just put that into my server on the PC or to the Mac.
DaVinci Resolve 16 is free but you need a powerful PC for it to work. Even an older version like 12 requires a lot of GB etc but it is what people are editing and colour grading on. The new version by BlackMagic includes sound mixing and VFX support.
As said many times here : don't look any further. OBS is by (very) far the most insanely powerful recording for Windows.
When others struggle to get a proper framerate when I record tutorials on 1 screen. OBS records 2 screens perfectly and compresses in real time in any chosen codec. It's free / open source. And it blows out of the water any paid application.
What video tutorial do you want to produce? Is the editor a necessary for this tutorial making? I've used two free programs for easy tutorial capture, one is called RecMaster and another one is VSDC. RecMaster is much easier to use while VSDC offers more edits...
I usually use Joyoshare screen recorder for PC and Mac to make tutorials for my art students. It is able to record screen in HD without latency and watermark, which is very important for me. Actually, you can also use it to record YouTube videos. For a video editor, you might try Adobe Premiere Pro. It has many powerful and professional video editing features.

What is the best way to get the iPad to my computer for editing? USB cord between computer and iPad? Or is there a better way?
_ and if you have Mac , then use iMovie _
Nope, I got an HP and an unfinished OS-less desktop. (Need a bit more parts to run such as a CPU and HDDs to name two.
