Does this upgrade effect those of us who bought all of these previously? I purchased all that is in the bundle years ago. Love your stuff, just hope the update applies to me.

Every pack has been updated and every update is free, so you should have new downloads in your account for any Home One pack you bought.

I don't believe it! (said in best Victor Meldrew tones ...). Saw this in new releases earlier and skipped it, thinking I had a few of the component parts as they are just the sort of thing I'd normally get and didn't want to get the bundle and, hence, a duplication of already purchased stuff.
Some hours later, after coming back from town I checked DIM to see what updates I'd have for these. None. Zip. Nada. That makes life simpler .. just buy the bundle now :)

I have bought all the items separately do they contain everything that the bundle has?

AHA!!! So that's why I saw Product Updates in DIM last week, or are these further updates coming through in the next day or so? DAZ is always updating everything for better installation through DIM, so I'm always getting updates almost every time I open DIM.

Actually, the updates went live about 10 days ago, but the bundle was delayed for some reason. I waited until the bundle was out to post, so that's why you may have gotten update notices over a week ago.

I took the opportunity to stock up on some more product of yours, Mac :) Highly appreciate the generous update and the price adjustment :)

The most important part for me with any of your products is really that they are very versatile and for most part contain an amazing amount of "goodies" on top. All those "small" bits and pieces some other PA might not think about, but - from my point of view - those make a scene a scene in the end.

So really grateful about this offer :) Keep up the good work :)

I quite like your stuff Mac. In all honesty I'd held off on the Home One stuff because the seperate prices were...daunting but I snapped it up with this bundle! Thank you!

It's impossible to not be enticed by such a tantalizing deal, so despite my somewhat strict budget I had to snap this up while the going is good. Thanks for the bundle deal, Maclean. It's an absolute gem which is irresistably good value for money.

Good to see the updates to this whole set coming out now. Got them all installed with no problems. Still a few weirdnesses, though:

The separate kitchen doesn't have the hatch through to the living room, the kitchen as part of the whole Apartment set does have the hatch.

The separate and combined rooms all (except the Hallway, I think) have light switches and sockets in different places, or missing completely.

In the Apartment Presets, the Poses for the bedroom don't allow for a solid removeable wall, using the Restore pose gives the wide window with a view down the basement stairs. Also, when I take away the basement stairs, the extra door in the side wall doesn't go away.

Incidentally, does this mean there might still be a basement add-on?

Thanks to everyone who bought the bundle. I'm actually surprised at how many it's sold. I did the updates because I don't like having older products which aren't up to scratch, and the bundle was a bit of an afterthought. I wasn't really expecting it to be a huge seller.

The separate kitchen doesn't have the hatch through to the living room, the kitchen as part of the whole Apartment set does have the hatch.

It does have the hatch, but it isn't switched on by default. Select the back wall, go to the parameters pane, and change 'back_wall' to 'back_wall2'. It's alternative geometry to give you the choice of using it or not. Note that the corresponding living-room wall has the same parameter, so if you load the kitchen and living-room as separate items, you have to change them both.

The separate and combined rooms all (except the Hallway, I think) have light switches and sockets in different places, or missing completely.

I *think* there was a reason for this at one time, and it seems to have been inherited from the previous version. IIRC, I didn't think it was a good idea to load up dozens of switches & sockets, and I just picked out a few. I felt that if anyone wanted to change it, it's easy enough to load all the rooms and resave them as an alternative apartment.

In the Apartment Presets, the Poses for the bedroom don't allow for a solid removeable wall, using the Restore pose gives the wide window with a view down the basement stairs. Also, when I take away the basement stairs, the extra door in the side wall doesn't go away.

I'm not quite sure I follow you. You could have a solid removable wall by using the back wall - ie. switching the basement/back walls (a Ztrans of 170.00).
No, the 2nd door doesn't go away. Thinking on it now, it might have been smarter to use alternative geometry for that wall, but it would have meant using alt geom on the matching living-room wall as well.

I don't have a basement planned. I did at one time, but when I started to rough out ideas for it, I realised it would take months of work to actually find enough things to fill it with. The area's pretty large and I'm not sure what could go in there.

Thank you. I'm glad it's appreciated.

With so many great products out there, the competition is fierce, and I like to throw in as many useful little knick-knacks as I can. I know many customers buy my products because of that. Another consideration is that I never use anyone else's products in my promos. Not because I don't like them, but because I like to deliver a full scene the user can open and render. So quite often, I'll be doing the promos and think, 'This needs such and such to make it look better'. So if it's feasible, I'll build it and add it to the pack.

Sometimes I have to smack my wrist and force myself to stop adding things - lol.

Ah, the little light comes on! (In my case, about as bright as the one that comes on when you open the fridge door...) I never thought to check on alternate geometries, it works like a charm. That answers all the questions I had, thanks. This was one of the best DAZ house scene sets when I first bought it, and IMHO it's still up there after this update.

Does this mean if users still use DS2 these products will no longer work for them? Is there a way to obtain the old DS2 .daz files even if so?

    I own the following products:
    Home One Apartment - http://www.daz3d.com/home-one-apartment
    Home One Kitchen - http://www.daz3d.com/home-one-kitchen
    Home One Bathroom - http://www.daz3d.com/home-one-bathroom

Shouldn't be a major problem — the materials files are flagged as D|S3.1 but they're plaintext scripts, not binary or encrypted, so they should still work in D|S2. The only hiccup is that they're set up as "sidecar" poses, with the D|S files in the /Runtime/Pose/ folder with the Poser .pz2 files. I don't think that works in D|S2, so you'll have to manually split up the Poser and D|S files and copy or move them to one of your own D|S content folders, outside your Runtime folder.

Sidecar works in DS2, but they have to be .ds scripts, not .dsa

Hopefully, I can get the .ds files and wont have to worry about having ANY issues or need to move ANY files around.

One thing to note is that even if you get the updates, you will not lose the DS2 files you currently have, so you can still use them. The apartment and bathroom don't really have any major changes, other than small tweaks to the materials. The main issue would be the kitchen, which has been completely rebuilt, so you'd probably want to use the new version of that.

However, you can still load everything into DS2 from the Poser folders. The materials won't automaticaly load with the figures/props, but you could either tweak them and resave in DS2, or find a way to modify the .DSAs. (I'm sorry. I don't know how this is done).

Im assuming you mean if I already downloaded and installed the previous versions BEFORE the fix? Which I no longer have... so now, I will have to download and install the latest files and "somehow" figure how to make them work. Not very happy about that at all.

Even if you don't have the previous installers, don't you have the products installed? What I meant was the new updates won't overwrite the old .daz scenes and data in your DS2 install.

I sympathise with your plight, (as a staunch DS2 user myself). but honestly, I can only support older versions for so long. Most other PAs are now only supporting DS4.5. I made a choice to continue support for DS3 & 4, and it took a lot of effort to do it. The .DSA scripts involved were written specially for me and I had to pay someone to do them. (Loading an entire scenes with multiple figures + props and multiple materials with the same name is not easy!).

I once had them installed, but had a HD crash and never re-downloaded nor reinstalled them as I havent "needed" them since. But as it currently stands, I was about to redownload them for another project I am anticipating and planned on working on over the weekend. My thing is i wish vendors would either give warning to their users before doing something like this... or simply ADD support for the newer versions, leaving previous support in which these products were purchased for in tack.
