I was just looking at her product page and she was $18.88 and suddenly the price changed to $44.99, no introductory discount? No Platinum discount? What happened? I was just about to buy her, then I changed my mind.
So was Thor.
Yeah, I'm still on the fence about getting the bundles themselves, but if I don't I will be getting the animation set no questions asked. They look fantastic and can be used a lot!
Can't we just go back to Pro Bundles? I love the new character (I'm fascinated by the Egyptians), but the new bundles are massively out of my price range. :(
Amisi for G3F is looking more Egyptian.
I am probably over-analysing things but if I were to purchase both bundles and 3 add-ons, will I still get the $20 store credit? Since both offers are in separate "boxes" on the sales landing page.
Can anyone tell me how it went with the last bundles? That superhero one. They added more bundles to it with each day (up to 3?) and I think the deals changed. Did the deals on it get better, or worse, with time?
The character is very beautiful, her skin looks deep and rich. Her promo pics are nicely done.
It's still a pass for me. In a world where I have unlimited funds and disc space I'd definitely get her. In this world I already have (and love) Ellithia, who doesn't really look similar but has a similarly regal, dignified vibe.
That usually happens when Daz had to fix something on the product page, discounts are then lost temporarily.
So will there be a male counterpart?
Should be fixed now.
I believe you'd have to buy a new bundle and another debut new relase to see any reduction on those two items (10%).
However, you've met the buy-in threshold for this offer:
You can pick up to three items from this category to get those items for 65% off (using the coupon code from above). But this offer also does not lower the cost of those two items.
I am not much for monsters, but I have an author who wrote a time travel short story with an Egyptian theme and at that time I had very little Egyptian items to work with, so I have been collecting since then. I would love more modern Egyptian or Northern African buildings, clothing, and food... offered in the future.
My first reaction was the Elizabeth Taylor Cleopatra movie but after rendering Twosret 8 and looking at an image of two Egyptian women on wikipedia, she looks Egyptian, if at least modern age and is lovely.
After I rendered the full length portrait, I zoomed up and found the necklace bob was moved into her chest, so watch for that. There are movement morphs for it, should have checked it out first. So I did a close-up. I didn't use her make-up. Sorry, not appropriate and garish to my taste. I think the outfit is lovely and a modern appreciation of the ancient Egyptian culture.

Some quick rendering image~!
No interest
I like a lot of the things in the Pharaoh Living bundle, rare for a female-themed release, and Twosret is beautiful. I'll definitely pick her up one day, and a male counterpart if they make one. I need a younger, darker-skinned, regal male character.
But for today, no banner = no buy. I've passed on a few bundles that I would have bought if I'd had a good banner for them, but Daz doesn't see value in offering them as incentives for new/infrequent bundle buyers to encourage more spending. The ludicrous base price of her bundle means that the "discounted" price is equally silly. Without a banner I'd have to spend nearly $100 for both bundles (one of which I don't want and would add only for the discount) + add-ons. The additional add-on discount is low enough to be insulting, especially with how underwhelming the PA Sale has been. $20 of store credit is not a discount or rebate, it's just money that I can't spend anywhere else. That I would spend it doesn't change that fact.
Plus the coupons are locked behind another DNRO buy-in, which makes them useless/inaccessible to those not interested in the theme or who can't afford debut prices.
No banner for me - then again, I don't need more Egyptian stuff right now. But the main figure is nice and so is the papyrus outfit.
For those who care about it...
SubD 4 on the HD setting (!), so dial down if it gets to be too much for your rendering thing.
No real tan lines.
There is hair on the diffuse map of the anatomical elements region, and that whole area looks extra goose bumpy (also baked into the diffuse).
@jakiblue
Here's that outfit:

OK this is a strange request, so bear with me... if possible, can somebody render a quick shot of the palms of her hands and the bottoms of her feet?
I only ask because I'm often looking for more exotic skin textures that have an appropriate amount of lightening in those areas, as is "natural" on people of such backgrounds, but the promo pics don't do a great job of showing what the textures are like in these areas. Considering a woman in Egypt back then would probably be wearing sandals, I'd just like to verify whether or not the skin tone on her hands (that seems appropriate in the one promo pic that showed her palms) is consistant with the tone on her feet...
Thanks in advance, to anybody who's able to oblige!
I must admit I really like this / these bundles (even if there are a couple of products I have absolutely no use for) - however, I also have to admit (primarily to myself) that I never really do much in the way of Egyptian-themed renders with the stuff I HAVE, so spending money on something that is beautiful but I won't (most likely) use isn't really something I can justify.
Hats off to the creators though - it is a *nice* set and character.
I didn't think I'd love both bundles so much but the characters and clothing are great, and the Creature Bundle is just fantastic. I wish we could have used both coupons, but it least it stops me from spending my whole 3d allowance for the month :P
IMO, her groin/pelvic region really is kind of distracting.
I think the room was way too cold when they shot the photo reference.
Luckily, at least for myself, I really only need to concern myself with what you'd be allowed to post here in the forums, but I can see why this would be an additional struggle when trying to judge the "viability" of certain skin textures lol...
She's lovely... it's just that the skin surface around the pelvic/groin area was just a surprise (and another case where allowing tasteful NSFW images in the store might be helpful, IMO).
Still rendering other stuff...
However, looking at the Diffuse map for the legs/feet, there definitely is a tonal difference between the top and the bottom of the feet. (i.e. what you would expect from someone with a darker skin tone)
So, yes, I'd expect consistency between the hands and the feet since the texture maps have an obvious shift in tone between top and bottom.
Awesome, thank you! That's good enough... sometimes it's just left out completely, so as long as it looks like the artist included that detail then I'm good to go! Thanks! YAY another fun skin to play with (is the creepiest thing I've said today)!
I am in Egypt right now on holiday. From all the many temple/tomb carvings I have seen none of the clothing matched the clothes available in this bundle. However that is not too surprising, as historical accuracy has never been DAZ's top priority when it comes to female clothing.
One dress I did see in a number of carvings depicting Egyptian queens and/or female goddess, was one which started just below the breasts, and finished just above the ankles. Seems odd that a lady would bare her chest, and yet be too modest to show a naked calf, but I guess things were looked at quite differently back then. I think such a breast revealing garment night be a pretty popular product, but I doubt you could sell it here.
Maybe she has Twosret's Syndrome?
