Any reviews on Nirv Sweet Pie Hair?

Looking at the promo images, this looks like a hair I would like, but based upon the very generic nomenclature for the morphs, and the fact that I"m extremely dissatisfied with the hair that came with Fredda, I'm reluctant to pull the trigger. Can anbody let me know about the quality and usefulness of the hair?

  • Having the same issue.... the hair looks good on the promo renders. But I am really diappointed by Fredda and Gou Luk, so I will no longer buy anything from those guys - at least until the known issues are fixed.

  • Same here.

Can you explain what you didn't like about those characters? I also got Gou Luk and found her disappointing because of her persistent open-mouthed pout that is rigged right into her. Makes for strange facial expressions.

  • For Gou Lok, that is one of the issues, yes. Other issues (for both characters) are visible seam lines on the neck, where the torso and head textures meet. This makes both figures almost unuseable for closeup renders that show the neck. Plus the Fredda hair, which is basically a painted hair cap with a few strands is really bad quality. Looking at the SweetPie promos, that hair should have been part of the Fredda bundle. Instead, it was released as a stand-alone product.

For Gou Lok, there has also been an eyebrow issue, where, for some people, the eyebrows ended up on the forehead.

  • Add me to the list of the curious.

I've got the Sweet Pie hair in my wishlist, but I'm really hoping to hear from a brave pioneer about the quality. I know I could always return it if I was dissatisfied, but I don't like getting into that process. DAZ support is busy enough these days.

I don't have Fredda yet but the Gou Luk Bundle was one of the best things I got. I mean sure the character comes default with an expression but you get so many high quality clothes and accessories and makeups and the hair is nice too. The clothes can go so good with other sets and the shoes are especially high quality and come with many skin and lighting options. The socks have many versatile skins too. The dress also does and does pretty good with shaders too

For the longest time I was always learning something new about the bundle long after I got it

That's just the thing.  No one cares about ugly stuff that doesn't work right.  If it's ugly, no one would buy it, and if no one buys it, there won't be any complaints.  But this stuff looks amazing in promos, and a lot of the stuff is fine, Fredda is a super cute morph, but there's stuff that's badly made, and that's the cause of disappointment.

OK review from me renders well  only thing ove found that might annoy a few people   when using one of the colours with a shadow root ( sorry hairdresser here) it looks  a bit muddy see attatched images  but easy enough to rectify i just turned up the transparancy about 5% and looked  IMO a bit better, great range of colours  some  really subtle and very  soft mangaish ( dunno if thats a word)  once  ive done  the close ups  ( not full renders  just test ones  sorry for quality ) theres quite a few  diff morphs and wind presets to suit most of your  needs if you need any more let me know

Thanks.  This is helpful.  I don't actually dislike the "muddy" roots.

In the first set of renders and some of the promos, it looks like there's a dark hair cap, or is that just a shadow?  I'm concerned that this is like the Fredda hair, where lack of hair is made up for by painting on the cap.

The haircap is not seperate but its a painted haircap which does the job for me just fine  unlike Freddda its not blotchy with the weird parting thing going on     deffo  will use a lot  this has DOF used  so looks a bit softer than the last ones  :)

    On iSourceTextures' Hatsumomo.

So I like the colours, and the styles work well.  It's hard to find any hair that do the root thing like this one does, and to me, that alone makes it worth buying.  The styles are fine, and the barrette's are nice little accessories.

What doesn't work well are the the blows.  They blow.  Only the very bottom of the main hair is affected, i.e., not the little strands in front, nor the hair at cheek level or above.  The hair is fine for straight up-down, but movement requires additional work, in this case, I used Mesh Grabber and gave up on the blows.
