Can the Fae morphs be applied to a normal size G8 figure, or does the morph scale them down and the scaling can't be turned off or manually corrected?

Excellent promo images imo.

There are lots of options too - nice value it seems.

Sure looks like they can be different sizes.

I didn't see in the description that the shaping preset scales the figure down.  I remember a pose pack that had a scale preset but I can't find it

Whenever a morph changes scale, you can just change the scale after the fact.

I agree it is suggestive, but not conclusive it my option.

Some scales are locked to the morph.

  • Yes, you can manually scale the figure and head after applying the morph.

There are some additional presets if you buy the bundle. I don't know if those include scaling.

  • the Presets that are exclusive to the bundle are Full character presets allowing you to load the full character including G8F, the Orla morphs, the Wings and Antenna (on the Fairy Presets), the Hair and the Clothing. since some of those parts would be missing if you didn't buy the full set, it made sense to include those presets in the bundle rather than in the character package. We did a preset for the Human and Fae versions of the character as well as one where we turned on dynamics for the wings, which allows the wings to be more flowy if you wish, I was particularly taken with the Fae characters in the netflix series Carnival Row and some other images which showed the faerie wings as more flowy and drapy, and wanted the ability to simulate that look when I created the wings.   We didn't feel it necessary to include scaling presets in the package since it is easy enough to dial up the scaling manually.

It really is a lovely package.

Both true.  I don't do a whole lot of fantasy stuff, but this all seemed so nicely made that I bit.

...yeah, this caught my attention even though I primarily work with G3.  About the only "fantasy" characters I tend to work with are fae (they figure into my story writing). I have a few older characters including Nursoda's Telka and Vila. as well as Filthy Fae the Sugar Slum Fairy for A3,Sadie Fae, and Mavka (both the original and Genesis version) which make for a somewhat diverse collection..

Well, having a couple of issues.  Make that one issue.  Daz Studio keeps crashing to desktop with this character, hair, outfit, a few lights and an HDRI with Iray preview on.

I normally have to have been running DS for quite a while with a lot of stuff going on for it to crash, even with lots of dForce hair and stuff going on.  With Orla, it's happened twice within an hour.  Maybe something to look into.

Just leaving this as a data point, in case anyone else runs into this problem.

WIth the sale, extra discount and coupon this was a can't miss. The character is cute and the Dragonfly wings + Antenna were worth the price alone. Thank you. Does the product page show the morph for Daisy 8? That wasn't a character that I was interested in buying, but I may be depending on the Orla morph for her.

This image could have been a promo because I did no post work on Orla Fae, but I did it after Orla Fae was submitted just for fun.   As for sizing, for the in hands promo, I just scaled Orla Fae in fairy form down to 10% after her morphs and everything were applied and then did an animated play range to put her in the hands of the normal sized Orla human with her clothes draping to set nicely on the hands through the course of the animation.  It was nothing more complicated than that.   I'll see if I can make an image of the Daisy 8 version of Orla Fae.  Orla Fae started as an addon for Daisy 8 but through the course of making her, I decided to make her her own custom character morph and that morph took over as the main character for the package and the Daisy 8 version became a bonus.

I really need to update my avatar thumb for these forums.  That icon is from when I used to be one of the forum admin two or three DAZ logos ago.  LOL!!  I'll get around to it eventually!

Here is another Orla Fae render I did for fun.  Don't worry, she'll thaw in the spring and be good as new.
