Is any other iOS user experiencing this problem?

Some of us use our mobile devices to shop,(I use my iPad) and there is a very annoying bug that has been going on for a few weeks and it’s really bumming me out... At the top of the screen at both the forums and the store there is a black banner or area that contains clickable links titled “SHOP”, “TECHNOLOGY”, “GALLERIES”, “FORUMS”, “BLOG”, “HELP” and “DOWNLOAD DAZ FREAKIN’ STUDIO” Below that is a blue bar which depending on where you are contains other links...

Here at the commons for example you have “DAZ 3D Forums” > “General” > “The Commons”... in a perfect world if I were to tap on “General” that would take me to a screen with links to all the other forums.
And the same with the store... if I were to tap “Vehicles” or “Animals and Creatures” the page would open for products that are Vehicles or Animals and Creatures...

But no.

The “activation fields” or “bounding box” (or whatever it’s called) for the links “SHOP”, “TECHNOLOGY”, “GALLERIES”, “FORUMS”, “BLOG”, “HELP” etc. extend way down into the blue bar with the other choices making them impossible to access.

I tried to screen capture it, because for a nanosecond you can see the area affected become highlighted, but gave up and just drew red squares illustrating where the upper link intrude.

I’m just curious if anyone else is having this problem, it exists for me in Safari and Firefox and it makes searching for stuff you don’t know the name of, or just browsing for stuff in the store in general really tedious and annoying.

I've just tested it on my iPad & i'm also having the same issue

    Thanks, that's driving me nuts...

It makes it pretty impossible to search for stuff since they don't have a separate filter for things like Vehicles, Animals and Creatures, Places and Things, Animations and Poses, etc... using the forum search for stuff like the previous mentioned categories is pretty useless.

I hope this doesn't go on for months or longer like most iOS related bugs.

What happens when you zoom in? Does the box grow proportionally?

Edit: Just tried it on my FireHD tablet and it shows the same issue on Android. On the other hand, when you scroll down a bit on the page, so the top menu is off screen and the sore selection menu is attached to the top of the screen then you can select from there without problems. Not a solution but an easy workaround for now.

I suppose Daz should have statistics on how many people access the store with mobile browsers.  If numbers warrant, they should either develop an app or a mobile version of the site to accommodate mobile users, because this is always going to be an issue.

  • This happens on Safari for Mac too, as far as I can tell

It's proportional to your zoom level... in other words, no matter how zoomed in you are, the area of intrusion is the same... the upper links completely cover the lower links.

I also just checked this on my MacBook and this issue exists in Safari (confirming what skullola_db06cea567 noted), as well as Firefox and Chrome.

So apparently this is an issue for Mac, Android and iOS.

No problems in Windows 7 or 10

Well, now that you mentioned portrait and landscape, I just found a workaround for iOS (not Mac)... For example if you search for something in the new releases that is a vehicle of some sort, click on it and when that product page opens, the turn the device to portrait mode (vertical)... the links in black area go away (turn into a separate menu accessed by poking the four white bars on the top left) and you can now access a bunch of categories that were previously coved by the links from the black area...

The problem with this workaround is you have to search a bit for certain categories and this doesn't work for Macintosh computers.

That's only because Apple makes it so inconvenient to turn their computers and displays on their side.
