What Are Animations Used For?

So you have an animation of a figure running or something - what do people do with these animations?  Are you supposed to make a music video?  Or an animated movie?

    People do both; they can also be "cut up" to make more complex behaviors.  A different but interesting question is what can one use them for if the only thing rendered is a still image.  Whell, you can scrub through the timeline and render that perfect intermediate pose.

    I make animated films. The animation packs I might use a bit here if a certain movement looks better than what I can do, but I mainly keyframe everything. I just finished I think my fourth short film and have begun working on a feature that I wanted to do live action a decade ago now but never had the funds to be able to, now I can do it right.

    this might come as a shock to your perception 

    but

    people are in a state of motion be it breathing in various sleeping sitting positions to playing sports, working at trades, catching busses, idly chatting and sometimes dancing, the ones not moving are mannequins or dead.

    it could be a psychological state you suffer from where you see life as a series of snapshots with nothing inbetween, I guess like many conditions you don't realise you have it until others share their reality. devil
