Is this blink sale a Total sellout?

    I had Robyn, in my cart for under $3 (with a coupon) and held off on the hope for Edward to drop... Boo. 

    This sale has been crazy challenging to sort out when/how is best to buy any of these Pro sets. Not a complaint per se, but a tad frustrating.

    I'm pretty new here so I don't have G8 asset burnout (yet). I really hope the whole thing doesn't get flipped on its head with a full new generation anytime soon. I'm committed to G8 (and G3 to a certain point) for a long while I suspect.

    I still need to grab the converter for G3 characters but the fact that it exists means I don't feel like its a waste buying G3 characters. Most of the assets between G3 and G8 (except long dresses I find) convert nicely. I can only hope that when the next full generation comes along we have the same convertion tools (eventually). G2 and below feels mostly like a lost cause, but maybe there are tricks I've not stumbled on.The built in converters always seem to mess up weights in the shoulders and legs.

    Are there any converters that take care of textures and associated character add ons or do they mainly port only geometry?

    I know few will agree with me, and I don't care.  We're all entitled to our opinions.  

    I'm someone who doesn't return products unless something doesn't work for my needs even with effort, is poor quality or not as advertised, or is cripplingly broken. I also don't ask for adjustments unless something's gone very wrong, like when they left a pricey DO unflagged and overcharged for it or collected taxes on free items, and I have never once returned and rebought an item due to a price drop.

    This sale has broken me and I can't think of another language to lodge a formal complaint in. The prices are chaotic, in both directions now, but what really gets me is their comfort with advertising one thing but doing another. Someone else said it perfectly, the deals are good but the way they're run only serves to irritate and disappoint daily shoppers. Not only could you end up paying three times as much for the same item during the same sale, but DAZ isn't delivering on the additional bundles they're advertising and so you're also not getting anything new in the "blink" sales. You just get to watch things have their prices plummet a day or maybe an hour after you bought them.

    I'm sure a few will agree with you. I know a few will also agree with me. Hopefully we can all agree that a measure of transparency and truth in advertising would be nice to see.

    People referring to the sale and going meh about it, not worth it etc. Putting in a new item, then the pro bundles of models I don't have, with the banner % off, means I'm getting pro-bundles for like 7-9 dollars each. While I restricted myself to only getting the bundles of the ones I don't have the character of, passing up the other bundles that I cherry picked items out of in the past when they rolled out long time ago, is rough because passing up content of poses, clothes, hair for 9 bucks total is hard to do. But I couldn't see myself paying over $200 for the lot...but did spend $100... [my bank account is whimpering and crying in a corner somewhere.] On one  hand I'm like for the love of god, end this sale! but the other hand with a fist full of money is saying OMG no no keep going!!! They are either going to roll out a whole fresh line of 8 models this year or 9 is coming out. They did this kind of sale way back before 7 was unleashed, threw all their 6 pro-bundles into Fast Grab for peanuts. So I was like well, I guess it's time to ditch Poser and learn Studio...bought them up and then here comes 7 right around the corner. I don't want to look...cool but I know I'm gonna be like Ooo I gotta have that! And that. And th--

    and this is why I have not rejoined PC+ yet, even though 2020 is gone

    I know full well I would be spending up big, the fact I even bought 2 bundles at $14.18 each is a big enough hit to my ongoing covid budget, I guess once the vaccine is available and the economy improves I will feel safer spending.

    I hear ya Wendy... Daz is my ownly vice... I don't smoke, drink, do drugs, swear or go clothes shopping... etc... So I feel like I can live a little with my Daz... but I know... once these sales are over... I'm gonna not be spending so much... Then it will be back to the PC freebie item of the week... lol

    Ollie would make a perfect Joxer for Xena pics as well as a character in my story. Sadly since the bundle is not part of the blink sale, it is more than twice the cost as pretty much most of the ones in the sale even adding in my loyalty discount.  I could just get the base figure, though I like most of the clothing included in the bundle (Oak Defender would work for Joxer and Forest guardian for the fae character.  

    Even my using my PC coupons doesn't bring it in line with the others.  

    Other than Ollie the Mr. Woo bundle is about the only one on the sale page that catches my eye (he also would be a great base for couple of different story characters and the bundle has a nice appropriate array of included content) so I may go for him instead.

    I have the original Ollie 8 Pro Bundle (the one with the "my preciousss" character who was removed). I don't regret getting it then because I got a lot of other stuff with it. That bundle is nice, and so is the base character, I like his skin and he's got a distinct look.

    You haven't? A lot of stores actually have a price guarantee that will refund the extra if the product goes on sale within a certain time window after you buying it. I've done it when it's a significant enough amount.

    ...yeah I remember about that. Just that at the new release price  (even 30% off with my PC+ discount for DOs) I could never afford a bundle as a single purchase..  Don't think that was the reason the bundle never saw the Blink Sales though,  not sure waht the reason was.   

    Ah well, picked up the Mr. Woo bundle, as like with the Young Teens 5 one many years ago, I actually like everything in it and have  uses for it all.  Also picked up the G8 martial arts Gi (finally, a practical woman's Gi that doesn't flash cleavage).

    I was disappointed with the limited number of pro bundles in the sale, the short length of time certain prices were available etc. I ended up crossing an unpublicised time boundary in filling my cart, and the price jumped $20 between checks of my cart. I'm not putting up with that, and emptied the cart. I would have spent more had the prices been stable for long enough to think about it, I am NOT going to be pushed into a rushed decision by marketing gimmicks.

    My gain in the long run, I suppose.

    I didn't know it was happening until it was nearly over, so guess I saved a lot of money, sigh.

    The item I did go for went up in price between seeing it and getting to checkout, so that was a bummer.

    I have hardly spent a penny at Daz in 2020, compared to the previous 10 years or so, when i spent loads every year.

    I just can't be having with the complicated sales etc.  

    And get frustrated with missing out on stuff, sales not working and so on.

    A very strange sale! I didn't get much since I had many of the bundles, and the ones I didn't have were often ones that didn't interest me at all. I did get Silas, Sidney, and Christian for about $8 each. Silas had been on my wishlist a long time, and the others were worth it for the two or three items I liked.

    It was fun having things shaken up a bit, I guess.

    I got Daisy, Kanade, Aiko, and Silas and the deals were pretty good! I got a hoverboard and cyberpunk apartment to unlock even more savings

    All the bundles I got yesterday had some pretty good poses too and most of the outfits are good too and I liked some of the hairs

    Some items I don't really like (I won't name them since sometimes the people who make stuff read these) but most stuff I'll probaby use

    Not sure... I got about 18 during the sale.  Lots of them I had already had one or two items.. but the price was so nice.. I couldn't pass them up.  lol

    I call this the "lack of sale", because I owned all if those pro bundles except Tara 8 mega. So I bought it and the icons bundle (at 90% off, some $6.98) for about $25, then my $6 off 18 coupon to make it $19 and some change. Checked on the sale every 2 hours with the exception of the first 6 hours. Went to bed and set an alarm for every 2 hours. Sad to see the "showing 0 of xx items" message each time. Then I seen the Tara 8 mega at 90% off near the end and was mad. There were 3 other bundles I was hoping for Holt, khimsit, and Sukia would be in it, but they weren't. Anyhow, thanks daz for at least doing a deal that stacked.
