What's the number in front of a morph dial?

So I'm trying to find a good setup between installed morphs and figure load times. Putting everything (even stuff from other sites) into DIM to be quicker with installing/uninstalling stuff. And sometimes temporarily removing morph subfolders from for example G8F to keep things slim.

Now I've noticed that there are sometimes numbers - like "(2): morph name" in front of the morph dials. Are those duplicates? Checked the data folder but the morphs I get this are not there twice. Or is there another reason for this?

  • A number before the the name like that means that sadly, yes, somewhere in the collection are 2 [or more] morphs with the "same name" and/or "same label" ... every morph needs to have a unique name and unique label.

When you look at the dials in Parameters tab/shaping tab what you see are "labels" rather than the Morphs actual name, what the (2) means is that you have two (or more) morphs installed with the same "label".

As an example "Victoria 8 Body" is the Label you see in DS, "FBMVictoria8" is the morphs actual name.

In the options menu for both the Parameters tab and Shaping tab you will see Preferences, put a tick next to "Display Separate Items", this will split up  your morphs.

Now use the cog on each morph to select Parameter Settings, at the top of the new window you have the Morphs "Name", under that the "Label" and then the pathway to where it's located.

Use this to determine if you have two morphs with the same Label or two identical morphs installed.

Thank you for this information, it will make tracking down the offending files a lot quicker, appreciated.
