Zero Expression?

I just missed the 2-hour Blink Sale on this item:

https://www.daz3d.com/ultimate-zero

It would have been handy, because I am having trouble with expressions... when combining expressions sometimes I cannot get back to the default Genesis 8 expression.

I know how to zero out a pose along with the expression, with Edit / Figure / Zero / Zero Figure Pose, but what if I just want to zero out the expression only?

All the zero expressions that come with the expression products just remove the expression applied with that product. It doesn't zero out the expression entirely.

Is there a zero expression somewhere in DAZ Studio to just zero out the expression, rather than the whole pose?

Ultimate zero is the on to go. I have not seen any other way to zero out a specific are of a figure.

    Select the head.

    1. Edit Menu

    2. Figure

    3. Zero selected Item's Pose

    If that doesn't work:

    1. Select the Head

    2. Edit Menu

    3. Figure

    4. Restore

    5. Restore selected item's pose

Thank you. But I just tried both of these steps and neither of them worked on the expression. Sorry.

It’s a pain but you can go under currently used and reset everything manually... Or create your own pose of an expressionless G8 and save it and use it to reset.

If you have Pose Fusion Plus it has an advanced clear expression option that does do more than just reset the pose controls; it also gets in and resets all of the power-pose stuff...and stuff with no dials in parameters pane. I haven't really marketed the feature but yes we designed a clear expression that zaps everything. I think we used the same code for Shape Gen for its zero pose controls. These are one click options but as mentioned before you can try to do it manually.

Thank you Zev0. Nice product and video! I can see how the fusion aspect would be really helpful too, so I may pick this up. :)

I think you should also market it as a zero pose/expression feature too.

I have about half dozen of your other products. You do great work.

To zero expressions click on head and in the scene select head, right click mouse and chose select children. After that click Edit-Figure-Zero-Zero selected item pose. Works every time for me

    Thank you.

What is really interesting is that simply selecting the head (without children) and using Edit / Figure / Zero / Zero Selected Item Pose works on some expressions but not others. I did a few tests and this is what happened with a couple different Expression products:

My Rules - Expressions for Genesis 8 and Christian 8: it worked by just selecting the head (expression is zeroed out)

Crazy Times for Genesis 8 Male, and also AFE - Real Male HD Expressions: has absolutely no effect (expression is not zeroed out)

My hope is that once I purchase the Ultimate Zero product, I will be able to zero out any expression, reglardless of which expression product was used to produce the expression in the first place.

Or are some expression products just not able to be zeroed unless you use the specific tool they supply in the expression pack? The problem with this approach is that I can't always remember which product I used to create an expression, and if I need to back out I'm stuck if the Edit / Figure / Zero / Zero Selected Item Pose method does not work.

So now I am selecting head weith children and clicking on toolbar shortcut and it's done . no need to purchase any product as this is what you looking for

I selected the children and it did not work on the expressions mention above. Not sure why.

It only works on some expressions, and of those, just selected the head without the children works equally as effective.

This method does not work fullproof on stuff like AFE

I took a chance and purchase Ultimate Zero because it was on sale today. And I am happy to report it works even on AFE expressions.

    See pictures:

    1. AFE expression, before Ultimate Zero,

    2. After Ultimate Zero Expression script applied.

So you also have a choice of using this product from the Smart Content pane, or with the scripts which can be added to the menu bar with a double click.

Just lock the bend, twist, side to side dials on the head, zero selected item's pose. I do it ALL the time.
