Everyone's favourite chore: Setting up a newer, faster computer

in The Commons
On the one hand: POWER!
On the other hand: This computer does NOT feel like home.
Then after using your new computer for a few months, it starts to feel like home and when you go back to your old computer for whatever reason it now feels like a strange place. Anyway, I'm trying to set up my new computer to feel as close as I can to my older computer but I cannot find the Keymate and Graphmate window panes. Do those plugins not install automatically?

Okay, apparently not. But I remembered there's a serial number page in my Daz account to install them. Man, it's weird how much stuff you forget from the last time you had to do all this stuff.
Okay why does the Hexagon bridge not work?
Never mind. Figured that out too. What the heck is going on with this new version of Daz? I can't remember it ever being this difficult to set up before.
Did I screw something up installing Daz on this new computer or does Daz no longer use the Program Files windows directories?
Yes,
I had custom locations for content setup on a secondary ssd linked to dropbox, that had to be exactly synced to the correct folders for it work properly as the drop box and files were shared among my home and work and render pc. I took photos with my phone of all the settings on the old computer and came back and re-entered them as they should be.
I gotta admit, for an app that has an online sign in component I'm surprised that it is this hard to get Daz installed the way you want it. If there is an online login then it should literally replicate on any device I log into my exact user experience. C'mon Daz! Work on this!
The connection isn't meant to be two way - it gets data from your account (products owned, and any products you choose to install) but doesn't send anything but the data requests to Daz.
Are you using Daz Central or Install Manager for the basic installation? The former has fewer configuration options and won't be suitable for more advanced users. You can put your serial numbers on the clipboard by right-click on the entry in Install Manager.
I would like two-factor auth at DAZ and option to mark a device as 'safe device' so that I didn't have to do the two-factor on every login. It makes me laugh to be such a pain in the *ss to hackers so how about it DAZ?
I actually enjoy setting up a new PC. i have backups of my entire runtimes that I can just plop in and set the path, but on my last PC, I went ahead and installed from stratch with DIM for the first time and it was pretty painless. I hope to upgrade to a new PC in a few months and really looking forward to it..
I think that's exactly what I did. Carbon copy of my libraries on a spare disk (I use a free utility called FreeFileSync), also copy the Install Manager folders (which are specified in the DIM settings). Install the DAZ Studio software using DIM and set up the preferences so that both DIM and DAZ Studio know where to find the libraries. I think that having to download everything again from both DAZ and Rendo (not to mention other sites which I might not remember) would be an absolute nightmare.
As it should be.
Microsoft should pay attention to that, considering they charge for the software then inflict stuff on us.
