Adding Bones for Spring Dynamics

I know there was another thread about using Spring Dynamics from 3D Universe, but I speifically wanted know if it is possible to add bones to a character that Spring Dynamics can the be applied too. There was alot of speculation about how to add DFormers to various parts of a character mesh and apply the Dynamic Springs to the DFormer. No clear answer has been found about how that is acheived, yet. Does anyone know if bones could be added for this purpose?

So would it be better to post a question like this in the Technical Help (nuts n bolts) forum? I know there a lot of knowledgable folks in this forum but maybe this topic is too "techie" for The Commons. Any thoughts?

Pretty sure the only way to add bones at all would be using a geograft.

I have added bones for FBX export to use spring bones in other software and weight painted them but you cannot save the figure in any way or it will break your starter essentials and all your content for that figure.

Learned that the hard way blush

Ahh, OK so thank you for clearing this up a bit. I have always wonered why there is not much discussion in the forums about adding bones, particularly for bellies and glutes. Oh well, guess its' back to trying to figure out how to use Dformers. I hope that a vender out there adds a product that can add bones to a figure, or makes DFormers a point and click solution.

Wait, really? Even if you save it as a scene subset? Now I'm too scared to try by myself, but I don't see why that should break the figure.

Uthgard, I was wondering also because I have seen tutorials on add bones to objects like earrings and even tuts on adding gegrafts with bones. I have see a discussion somewhere on adding a belly bone, but it was years ago not sure if it was even rlevant. It seems like it should be possible, but I know absolutely zilch about adding bones to anything. Since DAZ does give the capability to rig in studio, I don't know why it couldn't alow additional bones.

LOL, ok I give up, bones can't be added. So is there any new info on parenting DFormers so they can move with a figure and have the dynamic springs  applied to them?
