Seems that DAZ is continuing that themed bundle strategy including older products.
A second bundle (Victoria 8.1 Loving Life) was also listed for a short time but linked to an Oops page - so will probably be released tomorrow.
There is much to like in the bundle (especially the Top Updo hair) but I wonder why they need to throw in two environments once we are talking about a character release. A have enough libraries and dorms already so there is not much use for me. Also the Hearing aids might have been a better fit with Floyd 8 in my opinion. Those things make it not completely easy to just go ahead and purchase although I get extra discount for owning Mathilda hair already.

That's what I mean. Offer the environments as side-products with release so one can get them if needed but don't have 'em included with the bundle as it just increases the overall price for many.

Since 8.1 has a completely new face rig, the Expressions package is basically required to make any use of Genesis 8.1. Victoria 8.1 might be the "star" of the bundle, but the Expressions package is the must-have piece of the entire thing.
The Dorm room was sold previously, then added to this bundle. (So, I already had that one, and it counted towards a discount on this bundle.) I am 100% okay with that approach.
There are worse things than this bundle. It's not the greatest bundle for sure, but it's perfectly adequate.
Lots of younger people use hearing aids, too, so it rules that they included them in this bundle along with the signing poses. This is the first time I think I've seen Daz establish one of their core characters as disabled, and it's their flagship figure!

So... no discounts for people who own previous gen 8 characters? Even if they own ALL of the previous Gen 8 and Gen 7 Pro bundles? I'm being offered an orange bar 20% discount because I already own the two older items in the bundle, but no matter how I look at it, $58.78 for a bundle that contains only a base figure, 1 hair, 1 outfit, 1 set, 1 jewellery and a couple of poses equals yet another price jump in six months. And seriously, why are those older items in there any way? They've had time to create an updated figure base but they couldn't create two extra items for the first bundle in a new series? The fact that apparently 8.0 hair items apparently aren't even autofitting makes the inclusion of one in this set especially baffling. It's pretty clear that DAZ's new policy is "Less is More", as in less for us and more for them, and as someone who's intentionally held off on upgrading to 4.15 until they fix the current issues, I'm not feeling much love for this new Victoria right now.

I'm hard of hearing and I've worn hearing aids almost my entire life (I was in first grade when I got my first set of behind-the-ear hearing aids). So I was happy to get a chance to work on a set that included poses themed around hearing aids. Definitely neat.
I'm so so disapointed in the new bundles. Not so much because they are themed, but in what they include for its price. It is just too expensive. Pro bundles, themed or not, included more (raw) value for less.
Pro bundles have a raw value of its items around $270. That means that at $134.95 the bundle offers a 50% base discount.
This bundle has a raw value of $240,5, yet it sells at $149.95 That is less than 38% discount.
There is no longer a big sale to mask this price increase. I think DAZ, and not the usual white nights, should address this.
On top of that we have a horrible release promo. 24% discount instead of 30% with addons. No DO credit or Credit return the next day. Discounts on other products from 50% to 60% only. I also got no banner for collector or similar (neither read of someone getting one), only for owning old products in the bundle.
So without owning the old products, the bundle (with the "free" outfit that should have been part of the bundle in the first place) and 3 textures, goes for about: $72,55
That used to be $66 or less with a pro bundle and addons. And on top of that was Free Items(more than an outfit) OR $60/$75 DO credit OR $XX Store credit return AND bigger discounts on many things like 70% on select (interesting)non DO and/or up to 80% G8 DO or even 90% on older. AND all that before any purple/orange banner for owning a few other Pro Bundles, those provided extra discounts or more/double DO credit.
Now on the bundle "theme" i know it is mostly a thing of taste/needs, but there are a couple things that i find odd(as in odd, not wrong per se). First: So, no longer a supermodel, ok but i think that if you are changing the signature character nature a more "neutral" theme/bundle whould be preferred.
Second is the ASL and Hearing Aid items. At first i was wondering why they included those in a "University bundle", then after reading some comments i saw the actual description for Victoria 8.1 and found out it is about her. Nothing wrong with that, i actually find it good that daz is thinking outside the box in this and the fact that they choose it in particular for an update that one of its main points is better facial expressions, brilliant. But, doesn't that actually look like items for an STARTER bundle for a character? There are only two items related to university and one is old. Why even make an University bundle?
So, themed or not. I miss Starter/Pro bundles.
I know i'm not the best customer for DAZ, but i bought a couple times on release week even if the new bundle is a little pricier than waiting a couple months. But whith these expensive bundles and horrible release promos i will not do so again, just too expensive. Sorry, but even the other site looks more tempting in terms of price than purchasing DO outside big sales with multiple stacking discounts.
Ever thought of people born that way? Or through natural causes?
My irritation with this bundle is that you cannot get the Genesis 8.1 advertised vellus hair any other way unless you spend over $100 for this product!
No matter, I'm gonna voice my support for the vellus-horizon-shader-system instead, as that IS a product that I'm willing to spend money on!
I guess nobody here watches the bachelor/bachelorette. But, I have to agree with the majority of the comments here. 60% of childhood hearing loss is due to preventable causes and children with hearing losses are a minority. I too would have preferred to see hearing aids as part of an 'all original geriatric bundle'. I say 'all original' because I am sick of seeing 'new' bundles offering pre-owned/pre-offered content. I thought it was a temporary, due to product shortage or maybe the new art director coming on board, not a new trend. I won't be supporting those bundle types anymore. There is so much more that could have been done with this bundle, to highlight the new features of 8.1, instead it looks redundant - same old. Imho, not a great way to intro a new 8.1 version.
I did snap up the hearing aids. It isn't something I've a present need for, but I'd prefer to already have it if the need arises.
And I like the library. That's a really nice library. The rest of the bundle is pretty 'meh' as far as I can see. And I'm not dealing with V8.1. No 3DL materials = no sale.
And I'm not upgrading my version of Studio until it runs properly on a Mac, without having to jump through hoops.
This bundle is definitely junk. The stuff in it is great, don't get me wrong, the products themselves look great and I can see myself wanting a few of them, but the bundle? My goodness no. I mean, this is a new Vicky. She is the face of Daz. She made Daz into what it is and this is all they offer her? I mean, if I was her I'd be offended. Where's her bundle sisters? Where is her SWORD? I mean, that last statement sounds funny, but seriously, wasn't Vicky in a Cave With a Sword or whatever her defining thing? And why is she getting reruns of old products? I know Daz is especially enjoying doing this lately, but come on, this is Victoria, and all they give her is a half-hearted attempt?
Again, not talking smack about the products, the new tech that went into G8.1, or anything outside of the actual grouping of (or lack thereof) products in the bundle.
