Sorry to create a new thread - I did not find a final answer in the G 8.1 thread.
Is the vellus hair included in the Genesis G 8.1 base female?
A: Yes, but not yet available in the starter essentials (you have to wait for an update of the package)
B. No, you have to buy Victoria 8.1 base package.
C. No, you have to buy the Victoria 8.1 University Bundle

How is G8.1 vellus hair represented? Geometry, strand-based hair, texture map, etc. ?

I bought the Victoria 8.1 base and her HD package and I don't have the vellus hair.It shows up in the product library on my account page,but when I click it I just get a swirly.
No updates or anything in DIM either.
I'm having the same issue. Apparently, it has shown up in other people's DIM, so it seem to be hit and miss
Have y'all checked in your Products Library on the website by chance?
Yeah, Vicky 8.1 is listed as a bundle that includes the vellus hair. But, when I click the vellus hair product icon, the page for it doesn't load.
Oh I think they know what they are doing very well.
As it is advertized as being part of Genesis 8.1 I wrote a ticket asking where to find it. Let's see what the answer is. If it is behind a pay wall they should at least mention this. My issue is that I don't like the Vicky figure and don't want to spend $$$ on it. But for me it would be ok to spend $ on the vellus hair as a stand alone product.
I agree.I don't mind if the original intention was for it to be included in only certain bundles or a seperate purchase,but that hasn't been made clear.
If has been, I must have missed the post.The G8.1 discussion thread is 38 pages deep at this point.
I'm not actually sure I'd even use it all that often.I've not seen any renders with it yet to know if I like the effect or not.

If I click the Victoria 8.1 entry on the left it shows up at the bottom of that page saying "This product is a bundle that contains the following product..."
It doesn't show as a separate item with it's own entry on the left though.The page for it doesn't load so can't manually download it, and it doesn't show up in my DIM.
I'll give it the weekend, if I don't see it my DIM come Monday after work, I'll put in a ticket.
there doesn't seem to be good communication between marketing, sales and Website personal at DAZ
From the page alone one would expect it to be included with the base but it appears from what has been posted in that thread it is now with any paid 8.1characters starting with Victoria 8.1
initially it was only with that University bundle but not even listed as such.
its all very confusing
I myself was only curious about it not particularly interested in it otherwise as actually have two G8 characters one male one female with facial vellus hair I never use already
I do like male body hairs though but since future dforce ones will likely be G8.1M only when he rocks up I will probably pass on those too
the non dforced ones I have do, it doesn't need to fly around like a furry
i just bought V8.1 ... there was a separate product in DIM for the vellus hair. I understood the G8.1 product description that it should come with it - FREE. It is called GENESIS 8.1 female vellus hair ... thus indicates it is for the base.
DAZ seems to be really messed up in many areas over quite some time. Hopefully they can get it together.
I just want you all to know that, in my DAZ Install Manager, the Female Vellus Hair appears just above "Festive Balls".

I did buy Victoria 8.1. The vellus hair didn't appear that day, but showed up later. Now I can put hair anywhere that needs it.
thats when vellus hair showed up for me...with my V8.1 purchase, not just all of a sudden being there, but I did not buy V8.1 right away..it was the 3rd day after release.
