OT: RIP Hank Aaron.

...I know that sports isn't the most popular topic here but one of the greatest legends in baseball "Hamerin' "Hank Aaron passed on yesterday at the age of 86. He is of course best known for breaking Babe Ruth's long standing all time home run record or 714 home runs on April 8, 1974 . Aaron went onto hit another 40 homers before retiring extending his record feat to 755. While since eclipsed by Barry Bonds on August 7 2007 (ending his career with a career home run total of 762, seven more than Aaron hit) many assigned an asterisk to Bond's feat due to his use of anabolic steroids.
I remember many a summer afternoon seeing Aaron in the outfield and at the plate in old County Stadium when the Braves called Milwaukee their home. Like many kids Always took a glove with me in hopes of catching one of his homers (never did). Those were days before "the juice" (as it was called) and big money changed the game forever. Aaron came back to Milwaukee for his final two seasons as a designated hitter for the AL Brewers. where he continued to extended on his record, hitting another 22 home runs (for a total of 420 while playing in a Milwaukee uniform between playing for the Braves and the Brewers).

This is when more era accurate, or at least industry accurate, clothing would be helpful. It would be nice to make a render of Mr. Aaron hitting number 715.
...indeed. There used to be a baseball uniform inthe store M3 I believe). It was sort of expensive as it was something like 40$, but was discontinued a while ago. Can't find a classic generic uniform outside of the pro shops which would require converting from a format not compatible with Daz, rigging for G8, and retexturing, on top of laying out a fair amount to purchase. Sad nobody makes an accurate one for Daz/Poser About the only way is modelling (unless you have software like Marvelous Designer) but my skills at that are no where near up to tackling such a project.
RIP and greatest respect to Mr. Henry Aaron.
The way the divisions were set up back then I rarely got to see Hank Aaron play. But the stat nature of baseball allowed kids to play a variety of games using the info on the back of baseball cards and newspaper box scores. I remember every kid wanted Hank Aaron. Much of his career was in those awful multi-purpose stadiums. I wonder how his hitting would have been enhanced in smaller modern stadiums.
Amazing baseball player, and by all reports and even better person.
...basically there were just the two leagues and no divisions and no playoffs teams had to win their league pennant outright. Until the late 50s when the Dodgers and Giants relocated to California, Kansas City was the furthest west the major leagues etended (the Philadelphia Athletics moved to KC in 1955 a year after the Braves relocated to Milwaukee). Playoffs didn't begin until 1969 after a couple expansions which increased each of the leagues for 8 to 12 teams. Yeah you really had to be on top of your game to make the Fall Classic back then,
I feel fortunate to have grown upin Milwaukee which was the Braves home from 1954 (their first season after moving from Boston) to 1965 (after which they headed south to Atlanta).
Hank Aaron is who MC Hammer got his stage name from.
...didn't know that, makes sense.
He lived a good life, always a gentleman. He got the Covid vaccine January 6th, and he died two weeks later.
