Hi,

What is the point to add mouth/teeth maps in all the products ? The base figure textures aren't they enough ?

The most of time we never see them but they use a lot of diskspace when you own hundreds of figures.

Rarely use the teeth color as is. I'm from a generation that didn't mind ivory colored teeth, showed wisdom, character. Not quite "English Teeth", or some of those ghastly styles,  but those have character, too. I tone the teeth maps down with dim tints nearly all the time. Along with the teeth, the gums are too bright and shiny, So I turn down the gloss, the spec, the reflection and add a dim color to the base. So I find it is useful to have the maps for teeth. Also, I have experimented with maps from one character to another, to try to change the "chiclet" factor.  I use morphs, but changing the teeth color can draw attention to the character in subtle but nice ways.

Learned in art class, whereever there is a white detail, the eyes are drawn to that more immediately than perhaps where one intended.  I like to see the teeth of a character before I buy, but it's not often part of the promo. I like to make expressions where the teeth are shown in genuine grins and laughter with the The Duchenne smile   Also, I have experimented with maps from one character to another, to try to change the "chiclet" factor.. . It's a small image jpeg, per character, so for me disk space gets used up with nail polish and lip paint, which I rarely use.
