RS HD Alisa - Anybody already sticking in the nose in this product?

in The Commons
Given that recent RareStone products had its issues I wonder whether one has already tried out this new character and hair and what the impressions are?
Regarding that nose of Alisa I can't help it but thinking about Michael Jackson ;-)

I came here to ask the same question ...
Usually, someone who made a mistake won't make it again, especially when it's a verdor, because their reputation would be ruined forever...
I bit, literally , the bullett and ... textures could not be found ...
missing files:
runtime/textures/rarestone/rn alisa/rn alisa XXX.jpg
where XXX stands for the entire series of jpg's.......
I looked in runtimertextures and there is no rarestone folder to be found....
when I manually download the zip, there is no rarestone folder but a nirvana folder in it
in it, I find hair maps etc but nothing body maps.
DAZ *should* control this because they sell it!
what a mess!!!!!!
The file list http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/80243/file_list shows character textures, are you sure you downloaded all zips associated with the product?
well, I had a similar issue with https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-basketball-uniform-outfit-for-genesis-81-males. The textures were there, but the wardrobe itself did not refer to them. instead it tried to load them from some weird path. It is really a pain that QC on the DAZ side is performing beyond customer expectation.
And RareStone / Nirvana have some track record concerning their products on release day.
Hi Richard,
I know you have a lot to do, but you did not seem to have read my comments:
- I used Install Manager to install and when I loaded the character, the textures were not found
- I looked in my runtime and there was no rarestone folder or anything
- I downloaded the zip from my purchase page and opened it
- there was no rarestone folder but a nirv folder for the hair
- there was no skin texture or anything related to the character there
- studio goes looking for runtime/textures/rarestone/rn alisa/rn alisa XXX.jpg files but there is no rarestone folder in textures in runtime
If studio cannot find them, and they are not in the zip that daz provided, that this is not my fault, is it?
Each day there are some new products. Before adding them to the shop, they should be tested. That is not such a huge job, is it?
Plase contact this nirv, see that he fixes this. now.
it seems to be not the first time he does this.
Richard, there is only one zip associated with the product.
I wonder if there should be two? It certainly looks big enough to be split. Will send an enquiry in.
I feel sad, I've told DAZ about this issue few minutes ago, I never thought things could run like this.

I'm a big fan of both Daz and Rarestone but they really do try my patience... they have absolutly no concept of prevention is better than cure.
Everyday the same problems.
Withoiut question they are fundamentally flawed!
and there is still only one zip of 498MB to download ...
It's still early at Daz, they have to get to rarestone's or my email and reconnect (or even reload) the missing zips.
Thank goodness for your efforts but if only there was some way to miss out the part where Daz have to continually be prompted to correct their mistakes!

Very cute, will certainly buy when this all gets sorted out
That's the spirit! Same here, she looks great.
I've wishlisted the product as really liking the look of that transmapped hair (i don't tend to bother with em), but after recent issues and my own experiences, I can wait for it to reduce in price and to get fixed.
I wish I had read this thread before I purchased it.
I hope it will be fixed soon.
Missing zips are not PAs fault.
Lovely character and hair as always. Gonna pick them up as soon as things get sorted out
I think the character looks wonderful and will be picking her up the next chance I can buy something.
i mostly agree but i often find stuff muddled, missing and sometimes (surprisingly) a bit meh...
But ultimately (i know) all will be forgiven because Rarestone creates so much wonderful stuff... i've got loads of it
indeed!
it appears to be sorted
Good, I was just coming in to say it was being worked on.
I downloaded the missing 2 zips a bit earlier and I am very happy.
Beautiful character and hair.
Its one thing if a PA is messing things up. DAZ should sort that out, as the PA is giving them a commision for handling QC and presenting a product in the DAZ store, plus creating the metadata. According to the DAZ main site page (https://www.daz3d.com/community/community-publishing) PA's get 50+ % of the net revenue. The rest stays with DAZ. That is absolutely fine, as long as DAZ does really do what they promise.
The other thing is if DAZ messes things up. And they do have quite a track record on that, sadly. Such a "flaw" in publishing a product does hurt the PA's, and I really do hope that they get compensated for that, as it absolutely NOT their fault.
Put Alisa on my whishlist
. She is really cute.
Even if Daz fixes the OPs issue, there is still a huge problem in the current version 4.15 of DS that affects opacity and volumetrics, including transmapped hair. There is a discussion about Mountains of Altair where the planes for the clouds etc. are visible in the render, and brought up here in the beta version, in reference to transmapped hair.
Daz knows about it, but no post that I've seen of timeframe to be fixed.
Well, DAZ is not very communicative to start with. Almost as if they have taken a vow of silence. I wish ther would be more communication with their customers. The transmapped hair is an issue, yes. But you can do quite a lot with the scene lights to soften it. For close-up renders, this is a problem. Given the speed between 4.14 and 4.15, I do hope for a 4.16 soon. But as long as DAZ is not telling us, it is still a hope.
The return of the gallery was also announced as "soon after the holidays".
I downloaded both missing zips and installed them, and what I tried worked like it should
Thanks, Richard and RareStone.
It is indeed a very 'happy' character, and the shine in the eys - with the environment that is included - is really good!
(o, btw: Richard, I assumed you worked at Daz...)
Could you help me understand what happened here?
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/421671/louisiana-questions
I do not understand what you would like to know as this is a thread reg. a problem, now solved, in regards to the Character Alisa.
