...hmm a bunch of FireAngel's MUVs.. Have that as well.
The kit-bash progress is good... still got a ways to go with refinements, but looking pretty fantastic already
12 of the 13 .png files are 4096x, one is 256x {for the engine fire}
Most are under 2mb in size, some well under. One is closer to 3mb.
Side-by-side comparison... so yeah, I think it's definitely in the "heavy" category of dropship, LOL
Jabba your kitbashed ship looks really good
Thanks - yeah, I'm delighted too... never even thought about doing it until the discussion in this thread and realising that it would be highly unlikely that store artists would make the sort of thing I'm looking for based upon what they've made so far.
I've called this "The Beast"
,,,bigger than I was originally thinking, but when you go badass then might as well take it to the limit, hehehe.
Looks really cool Jabba! I admit I'm curious to know which products are part of it, but I suspect it may be too many to list :)
Cheers - I actually did a journal entry on DeviantArt of that very thing...

Basically, I started by finding something that would give me the size of cargo hold I was looking for, then the cockpit, then filled-out the rest of the ship. Incidentally, once the MIL Dropship has a cockpit interior module, I think it will do an excellent job of being a kit-bashable cockpit for a wide variety of purposes.
Alrighty, here come the list, hehehe...
- Cargo Hold is building with built-in drop ramp from "Sci-fi Base 2"... https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-base-2
- Cockpit is an old Coflek-Gnord product at Renderosity helpfully named "Spaceship Cockpit" (this does require a little bit of adjustment to use in iRay, but as mentioned above, the MIL Dropship cockpit will do just as good when an interior is made for it).
- Initial shape of roof and angular from around cockpit are scaled-up shapes from Stonemason's "Modular Sci-Fi Kit 01"... https://www.daz3d.com/modular-sci-fi-kit-01
- Most of the large recogniseable shapes are from Acharya Polina's "Modular Starship Kit"... https://www.daz3d.com/modular-starship-kit
- Some additional detailing from DzFire's "Nurnies Greebles Parts and Pieces"... https://www.daz3d.com/nurnies-greebles-parts-and-pieces-vol-3
I don't kit-bash too often, so some of these products had been bought in the past "just in case" and this was my first time using them - great to see that there's plenty on offer in the store that lets you come up with your own ideas with just a wee bit of inventiveness.
That said, I will still happily pay my hard-earned cash to PA Artists that are willing to make a heavy dropship or two ;)
...nice work. .
I've done a fair amount of kitbashing now & then usually with sets like below.
Thanks Jabba :)
