How do you save an ACTOR (Character) with hair, brows and Anatomical Elements?

Hi Everyone,
Can you tell me how I can save my characters as ACTORS, so I can just merge them into scenes and they load
with their hair, brows and gentialia already attached. Is there a way to do it other than saving them as a Scene Subset?

  • I use scene subset and merge. Is there a reason that this won't work for you?

  • I also save characters with their hair, brows, sometimes clothing, etc. as a Scene Subset and load them into new scenes.  I do this several times a day.  Works perfectly.

  • Yes, that totally works for me too, but I thought I have purchased characters that are "ACTORS" that load with everything on them.
You know with the little blue actor tab. I was hoping there was a way to do the same thing.
I thought I could create a folder with all my characters as "actors" and not with the little green "subset label."  LOL

A character preset can do that, but the post-load script it refers to(which by default just loads the lashes on Genesis 8 figues) needs to ebe dited to handle any other add-ons, it isn't an automated process.

I always save a scene subset and you can then merge into a scene.

I do it differently and save my characters as morphs, and the rest at a "loaded" wearable. Thiswon't save the actor but has other advantages as clothes better audio fit bar characters then morphed into shape.

You should be able to load a scene subset without merging into the current scene, given the subset nomenclature - if something is saved as a scene, then there will be a warning dialogue saying the current scene will be cleared.

That warning will only appear if your current scene isn't saved. Many a time I've accidently double-clicked a scene file only for my current scene to close and the new one to open instead of merge. Generally if I'm adding a saved scene I'll right-click merge and delete the things I son't want, like lights, tonemapper options etc. but sometimes I'm half asleep and forget.

    Try using the following

File - Save As - Support Asset - Figure/Prop Asset

That saves a completely new figure, not a figure and accessories. So I don’t think that’s what the OP wants to do.
