I'm stuck using the netbook now. Can't render anything on a Celeron computer with 1 GB of memory. My main computer is disconnected because my dad is moving it. Ugg

edit: can't study either with all the noise going on either. Parents are cleaning my room.

Non-complaint: can download the new DS and play with it when I'm not in bed sick! :cheese:

Gotta make lemonade out of the lemons Life hands you... :shut:

Woohoo, thanks to KKs suggestion I have COFFEE! :cheese: If I hadn't bought all this stuff from Seattle Coffee Gear, I'd be coffee-less.. it's 34F outside and the closest place for coffee is McDonalds, 1/2 a mile away. :blank: The way my guts are churning, I'd never make it...

But here I sit, sipping Twilight Blend.. makes me feel a bit less miserable.. :)

We've got 46 right now. Damn, TroutFace, I'm going out to build a wall along the north side of my property. That ought to keep your weather away from me. :wow:

Ok, installed - first out -of-the-box impressions:

    - IPR. Best thing since sliced bread! TOTALLY usable on this wheezy old i5 system with ancient Intel HD graphics. Makes scene setup a lot easier.

    - UI takes some getting used to, but I haven't customized it yet.

    - Feels more responsive. No idea if this is true or not.

    - Doesn't render any faster, from what I see.

I'm putting it through its paces now, trying to get a sexy cheerleader and hot car pinup. :red:

UPDATE 1: Once the scene has fancy shaders, IPR DOES slow down, but don't run it all the time.. I'm using it as a fast preview render before I invest 20+ minutes in a full render. Also, while the default UI is a touch confusing, I'm getting used to it pretty quickly.

Argh.. dang UI needs tweaking, I guess that's next.

At least so far, even my older Poser content is loading fine.. the tab system takes some adapting to, instead of "rooms" there are tabbed sections which is more 3DS/Maya/Blender-like, it all happens in one main window with lots of tabbed panes on the side. I just need to kick the Scene data into a tab, right now there's not enough screen real estate on this lappy to get it all in one tab. :blank: Or maybe buy a huge monitor and USB keyboard, use the lappy as the engine.. :blank:

    Render, render, renderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :blank: :shut:

...same here with the login from the home page/store.

However oddly, when I clicked on one of the items in the store promo email and then clicked "login" from there, the username and password fields were populated. This is getting both stranger and more annoying by the minute.

thank goodness for keyboards, holding a pencil would hurt too much

...that's what caused me to stop drawing and painting and move to CG.

I want one of those projection/pad setups like HP has for their new Sprout all-in-one system, but one I can hook up to my current workstation with a larger pad to accommodate my 1920 x 1080 display. Then I can just use my fingers to select and move stuff around.

Today I ordered a small Philly chicken sandwich combo but got the next size up and a free upgrade to bacon and cheese fries. Yum bacon! And a regular sandwich instead of a small.

even stranger is that the boxes that held the computer look fine. So the case was damaged at the factory or during packing, not during transit.

Finished eating with just less than an hour to catch the bus. That was a good meal specially with some lemonade to wash it down. I wonder why does the lemonade cost more than the soda or tea? Not talking about premium lemonade with fruit flavoring but the plain original lemonade. Who knows?

Interactive Progressive Render - gives you an updated micro-render as yu manipulate your scene. Useful in small doses near the end of setup.

...MickyD's makes my gut protest just thinking about the place.

Glad to be of help on the coffee front. Used to be a big coffee drinker (the name of my classical radio show was the "Coffee Cantata Club") so I know what it is like to be without. Several months ago the gut finally said "no more" and I switched to a strong British blend tea for my caffeine fix. I still can have the occasional Latte or Americano Espresso (less acid which makes it easier on me) but no more day long coffee binges.

Bight and sunny but c-c-c-cold here today, only 42° and windy to boot. High tomorrow is supposed to be only 38°and it will be windy again. Going to get down in the 20s the next couple nights and there is a threat of sleet or freezing rain by Thor's Day . Have big supply of British tea, have food for the rest of the week into the weekend, no need to go outside.

Just got an rider alert from the transit system about one of the tram lines being knocked out of service as a tree was blown down across the tracks damaging the overhead lines.

...ugh that always worried me about ordering delicate items like computers & such and having them shipped. Remember what happened to Jaderail? His new beast was destroyed when the Fed Ex plane it was on had to make a crash landing.

I used to work at a warehouse and saw the condition of material returned to us by both UPS and Fed Ex. Most of the time it was so badly beat up, we had to recycle it. The only returns that came back in decent shape were full skid orders that shipped via truck carrier.

So far I've done pretty well with NewEgg, The boxes arrive in almost perfect shape looking as if they never left the warehouse. Nothing was ever "DOA".
