New forum look as well?

Are the forums getting a similar treatment to that of the store front?

I used to have daz3d.com at a higher font setting and now I have to go back down for the store. And well, I have to bring them back up for the forum.

    I won't mention that dreaded "S" word.

I'm rather hoping that the forums don't get messed with. A lot of hard work and users time was put into tutorials and help in the old forum that became totally useless because screenshots and stuff didn't show up in the archived version.

I know change is inevitable, but I honestly like the forums the way they are. I hope they don't change over anytime soon.

Modern websites are now being designed with auto-font resize. This is better for everyone, especially for those with monitors with high resolutions. The type on the forum now is way too small for my 1920x1080 monitor, so I have to use the CTRL + on the browser to zoom in to a readable size, and now with the changes to the main store I have to CTRL - to zoom out.

Thank you, thank you. I didn't know I could zoom in and out like that.

    Your welcomed.

The shortcuts are: CTRL + +, CTRL + -, and CTRL + 0 (in case you zoomed in or out several times, zero is a quick way to bring your resolution back to default in one command).

One more thing, holding down the CTRL key while scrolling with the mouse wheel up or down will do the same as the shortcut keys + and -.

Well that's cool. Already works on the current forums. The logon issue with the old store/forums SEEMS fixed finally after a couple of years of hell of having to constantly log on. So there are GOOD things happening even though folks hate the carrousel on the store page...

...I've been experiencing quite the opposite since the new store site went live. Every time I turn my system back on I have to sign into the foums again and then get stuck in a runaround between the forum page I'm linked to from the email bot, my account page, and the store page. Signing in from the forum page today once again took me to my account page, however, this morning it was a low res version (and I have a high speed connection) instead of back to the thread I was on.

When I went back to the ebot and clicked the thread link again, (rather than having to manually navigate to the post from the account page) I discovered I was logged back out. This occurred yesterday as well.

Doesn't matter that I have cleared my browser's cache and cookies and have been doing so regularly since the new site went live (and I'm on FF, not IE8).

I really hope the appearance of the forums doesn't change very much. Don't want them suddenly making me feel like I'm on "TWIT-er" or "Farcebook". It would also be nice if we could embed .gif's in the posts like we used to be able to do, rather than as attachments

...oh and please, better emoticons. I and many others miss the ones from the old forums.

Try deleting your cookies and rebooting the computer or at least restart the browser. Not sure why it's behaving for me right now. I'm sure the other shoe will drop soon enough! lmao

...already cleared cache & cookies (as I mentioned) which usually should fix such matters when they occur. Never had to reboot the system after I just started it up for the first time of the day which to me, says the bug is in the site. This didn't happen on Wednesday/Thursday as most likely, the forums had not been fully "hooked in" for I had no issues signing in from the thread I was on then. Only since Friday evening did this begin to occur, and I didn't change anything in my setup or routine.

There have been a few others experiencing the same as well.

There's only one carousel I want for DS, and I can get it for free here: http://dragonspace.com/wordpress/?p=553 :cheese:

As for the slideshows, I can do without them. They take up a lot of room on the screen and get in the way of me finding what I'm looking for (as opposed to what the store thinks I should be looking for - the store has a bad success rate of guessing what I really want).

That's a browser feature, not a forum feature, actually (unless it hasn't worked with this forum before? May depend on the CSS setup).

Boy, you made me really laugh and that's something I needed tonight. I love sideshows.

I seem to recall that some forumites were calling for the ability to change the color scheme for these forums when we got them. Wonder if we will be able have colors other than light and dark.

Nope, it's a DAZ issue. I've been complaining about logging issues for a couple of years now and I've used Firefox, Chrome and IE with the same results.

Hm, looks like we're not talking about the same thing (browser zoom). Thought it was that you were refering to...

Ah, my bad. I was still on the log on thing. Yea, the Zoom thing must be a Firefox extra because those very key strokes do just that.

I think most browsers have that feature these days - at least all the latest versions of IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera have it.

Light blue text on white background with light gray banners, no other skin option.
can someone point me to a good Chrome plug-in that will allow me to mod the colors of these forums?

We used to have it, it's was a good option.

    Hey guys,

I found a much better solution to the font size zooming issue. It's called NoSquint.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/

It has been mentioned here on the forums before, but I don't seen anyone point out that with NoSquint you can apply zooming to different parts of a domain. In the case of DAZ 3D the main store from the forum.

All you need to do is add:

    *.daz3d.com/*

to the Global Settings in the Exceptions tab.

You can now have a much bigger font size for the forums separate from the main store pages.

Given that Daz seems to have a never-ending round of sales and promotions, I can't be the only one baffled by the existence of the 'Latest News and Offers' forum and how it doesn't appear to have seen any action in over two years. What strikes me as even odder is that I've never noticed anyone else comment on how strange this looks either, so I thought I'd mention it to see what implodes when you do :)

All the comments on that happened some time ago, now it is just accepted as not being used. It was a left over from the old forum I think.

Think your right and if memory serves it didn't see much service there either
